PROS: Very exciting, great for the whole family
CONS: Can be crowded
Trappers Turn is a 5 star golf club. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely lake right on the property. This is a great place to fine tune your golf skills. And if you need the extra help, they've got wonderful staff on hand to offer private instruction. They have locker rooms and a dining room (and a bar), to complete your golfing experience. This place isn't cheap, but for the golf enthusiast it's well worth it.
PROS: Beautiful scenery, excellent course, restaurant, locker rooms
Calling all golfers to the Wilderness Woods Golf Course. This is the place to go if you're an avid golfer. It's a beautiful setting with 27 holes to play. It's been recently updated too, so if you've been there before, it's even better now! This would be the perfect place to spend an afternoon with friends, teeing off! Prices are typical for a nice golf course.
PROS: Scenic, nice setting
CONS: Not for the family
Computer gamers unite!! This is the place for you. Wizard Quest takes you on a wild trip through a live computer game. You play your way through it. It's not really scary, but it may be too dark for young children. Rates are reasonable (you play for about and hour and a half), and there are family packages available. You can also purchase combo tickets to save money on neighboring attractions. If this is something that interests you, it's definitely a worthwhile experience.
PROS: Very unique live computer gaming experience
CONS: Not that appropriate for young children
You won't believe it until you see it! The Wonder Spot is a truly unique place, where you will see and experience things firsthand that cannot be found elsewhere. You'll see water run uphill! A ball run uphill! And many more things the defy gravity. And best of all, there's no tricks involved. It is a natural happening due to the types of rock in the area. Very fun for kids of all ages! If you visit the Dells, you can't miss this!
PROS: Truly unique, you can't find this anywhere else
CONS: May be difficult for people with balance issues to handle
If you love wine, the Wollersheim Winery tour is right up your alley. They have a number of tours daily, and the rates are very reasonable. Children are free (but it's not really the type of place you'd probably bring them anyway). The tour includes a lot of information about the history of wine-making. There are also opportunities to sample wine and purchase it, if desired. They even have special events throughout the year that often include snacks and sometimes even music! These events are open to the general public.
PROS: Interresting tours, wine-tasting
CONS: Not interesting to children
This is a well-known attration throughout WI, so don't miss the Dells Deer Park. On their sprawling property are a variety of deer, including sweet little fawns, as well as some other wildlife. There are lots of opportunities for the whole family to touch and even feed the deer (feed is sold there). Young children do need to be closely watched though, since having deer come right up to them, may be a scary experience. Overall, good family fun and a learning experience for the kids.
PROS: Interesting experience
CONS: Young children may be afraid of the deer
Top Secret Inc. is the white house gone bad. The outside, which looks, like a ruined upside down white house is probably this attraction's best feature. The inside features a tour through twisted white house rooms, including the oval office. It's not too exciting and there really isn't anything "secret" about it. Not worth the time, especially if you have young children, there isn't much to capture their attention here.
PROS: Exterior is good for photo-opps
CONS: Tour is on the boring side
Timber Falls is a fun place for the whole family. They have everything from mini golf, to log rides, to roller coasters, something for everyone! It's not as large as some of the other parks and doesn't have as much to do, but it's still a nice place to take the family, especially if you have older children. The rates are high, with the exception of the mini golf rate, which is reasonable. The rides range from $6-20 PER RIDE!! So, they're very costly. It's worth going for the mini golf though, if nothing else.
PROS: Nice variety of attractions at the park
CONS: Not as large as some of the other area parks, rates are high
If you love animals, the Timbavati Wildlife Park is the place for you. They've got many different animals, including some rare and exotic ones, including a very rare white lion! There are animal shows, opportunities to touch and feed some of the animals, and even camel rides. It's located close to many other area attractions, hotels, and restaurants. The rates are reasonable.
PROS: Lots of interesting & exotic animals, great family fun
