Pumpkin Patch
If you love Autumn and haven't been to The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island, you're missing one of the highlights of the season. This business offers something for everyone - - including a huge pumpkin patch which you can get a wagon ride to and from, petting zoo, produce store, u-pick flowers, a gift store, a huge corn maze, and of course lots to snack on including roasted corn ears, chicken burritos, carmel apples, and so much more. Go early in October or a weekday, as the weekends closer to Halloween turn the place into a complete mad house.

Beads Forever
If you're into beading, and you see that store sign with "beads" in the title, you immediately park the car and rejoice that you've found another bead shop to explore. There is a great selection to choose from and what bead enthusiast wouldn't like to spend time perusing all the colors and types and imagining what they can make? Nearby stores in the Hawthorne district make this and other shops a great weekend shopping experience.
La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings & DeĢcor
I've had my La-Z-Boy for over 20 years and it is still my favorite chair. Stop thinking duct-taped recliner ala "Frazier" and check out the new styles that La-Z-Boy has to offer. Very hip and modern and collection by Todd Oldham. I've been in the store scoping out my next chair, but I hate to part with the one I have know. The store's staff is very helpful and friendly.

Fishel
Fishels is a furniture and home decor store that focuses mostly on the contemporary look. I really like everything they have here, but I was never crazy about the location. Luckily, they have opened a second store in my neck of the woods, in the Tanasbourne area. If you're looking for some modern pieces, definitely check out Fishels.
The Barefoot Sage
If you're not pampering yourself oneself, you owe it to yourself to try out the Barefoot Sage. You will get hooked on treating yourself to some R & R. They feature massage and therapies for the tired feet. There are two locations, one in the Bethany Village Centre and one in the Hawthorne district. If you're looking for a gift for someone who could use some extensive pampering consider a certificate to here!
Harry & David
This outlet of the well-known Pacific Northwest company is located in the Bellevue Square Mall. Famous for their pears and apples, and glorious gift baskets, Harry and David offers all sorts of gourmet goodies and snacks, along with some culinary items and kitchenware. If you're looking for a nice gift, this is a good bet.

Portland Monthly Magazine
I'm a magazine lover, so naturally Portland Monthly would catch my eye. But I wondered how well could local news and in-depth articles be done and would they be appealing. I've been pleasantly surprised after reading several issues and now actively search out the newest copy to see what's happening in our town. The articles are informative and interesting. Frequently, there are stories regarding "the best of" i.e. doctors in Portland, summer vacation spots, etc. The photographs are well done also.
Forever 21
My teenage daughters really like this store with its selection of fun clothing and accessories. Sizing is somewhat limited - - not much for junior plus girls. But whenever you amass goods that appeal to the teens, they flock to it. To me, the clothing is more about price than quality.

Portland Family Magazine
Anyone with children will want to read this informative magzine. There are all types of parenting artlcles, ideas on things to do and places to go with families. Also, lots of listings of upcoming events that might be of interest. It's really an invaluable service if you're looking for things to do with your kids or just want some relating to other parents.
Yaquina Head Lighthouse
This is one of my favorite spots on the Oregon Coast. Whenever, we visit Newport, this lighthouse which is 1 mile from Agate Beach is a must-stop for us. First we stop at the new visitor center which gives us history about the lighthouses, then we head up the hill to take in the view from the lighthouse - - yes, you can actually go inside and climb up inside the lighthouse. This is a great spot also for wildlife watching. It's a thrill to see the sealions and migrating whales here. And there are usually park rangers who are very helpful with interesting information about the site. Down from the lighthouse, there is access to the beach where the tidal pools can be seen. It's a wonderful place to take in many aspects of the coastline - - both history and natural beauty.
