Dollar stores are great to pick up little items for children or small items needed around the house, but this store seems to have something for everyone! They have a good selection of items in many areas, including party supplies, household items, gift bags and just about anything possible. I try to stop by this Dollar Tree whenever I'm in the area and have time to shop.
It's fun to me to just look around and find things that I can use or pass along to others. This store has some interesting little novelties, as well as the good old standby items like laundry products and soap. Sometimes they have the exact same items as the big department stores, only much cheaper. I prefer to save money when I can.
When we stop by one of the lumber stores, I always head to the garden department first. They have some great plants, and most are grown locally by Bell's Nursery. Home Depot is a good place to find new ideas for the home too. I still prefer the plant section though!
Anyone may shop here. They offer organic produce and foods, some spices and bulk foods, and the place smells wonderful. The store is fairly small, but we always find something of interest.
It's nice having two wholesale club stores in one town, as this seems to keep prices more competitive. Sams is a great place to purchase tires & batteries for your car, or many things for the home. We try to check here first if we find something at Walmart that we want, as Sams often has a similar but better item at a better price!
Martins has a big selection of bulk foods, from candy supplies to baking things, to snacks, and yes, candy. We always enjoy running by when we are in the area to pick up a few snacks and bulk food items. I forgot to mention the numerous spice items as well. Oh, and they also carry produce and plants in season. There's a lot here, so this is a great place to try when you're ready to go on a big baking spree or just enjoy planning one.
This is my favorite A C Moore, as they seem to have a larger selection of everything here. Today they had a sidewalk sale, and I was able to get some terrific bargains. They seem to consistantly have excellent clearance sales from time to time.
A C Moore, however, does tend to not mark down their clearance items in the computer, so watch your receipt carefully to make sure you are not overcharged. A C Moore usually has a sale flyer that starts on Wednesday, and usually has coupons. They do accept competitor's coupons as well.
For some this store is a bit of a drive, but this Walmart is a Supercenter and has just about anything anyone could want or need for the average home in one place. They are always busy though, so allow a bit of extra time. As a plus, they seem to consistantly have a good selection of fabric in the craft department.
This little hardware store is like one of those you visited with your parents or grandparents when you were a little kid. They have an interesting variety of items, and sometimes have things that can't be found elsewhere. I didn't stay long, since one of the workers had a cigarette lit inside the store, but if you need something hardwarish and you can't find it anywhere else, you may want to give them a call.
Our family loves Chinese food. This is one of our favorite places to go. The selection is somewhat limited, but they make up for it with very tasty food. I try to limit our salt intake, and I don't think their food is as salty as some restaurants. The local paper frequently has coupons for China Wok too, making it a very great bargain. From the outside, the place looks very small, but there is a very large dining area inside. Don't let the exterior fool you, and give it a try!
