F-Street? What is there really to say? Conveniently located, "adult bookstore." With speciality items for couples, some lingerie for ladies and... other products F-Street is pretty much just what it looks like.
The staff is usually VERY well informed and nice. I was shopping for a friends hen night and they helped me pick out something suitable for her personality that wasn't extremely embarassing!.
As a college student we're often faced with decisions, books or food? Even though I am a state student I often find my books at Ross for cheaper than even KB. Organized store, friendly staff, affordable pricing, easy parking, one qualm: they didn't check my ID even though my credit card clearly states: SEE ID. BIG Security hazard.
PROS: Organized store, friendly staff, affordable pricing, easy parking
CONS: check ID!!!!
With the high population of pacific islanders in San Diego this house gets a lot of attention. Which is great since that means they often have better exhibits and events than some of the smaller houses. Try to stop by on a busier day they often hand out food or have people dressed in fancy dresses signifying their culture. Best of all the price is right: free!
CONS: sometimes very slow and not much to see
A bit pricier than some of the other museums(mainly because there's no student discount) $7 for 13+, 3-12 and Seniors are $6.25 (under 3 is free).
Lots of interactive exhibits make this a great museum for kids (6-12) and those of us with kid like hearts (16-21) if your teens at the, "I am too cool for school stage" they might pretend not to have fun but there's tons of things to read and learn when not trying to sneak into Kid CIty (lots of fun!)
CONS: Slightly expensive, crowded on weekdays
A great museum at decent prices: Adults are 10 dollars, Seniors and Military are eight dollars, students (bring your ID) are seven dollars ages six to 17 are four dollars and children 5 and under are free!
The museum is bigger than many of the smaller ones at Balboa park and filled with great exhibits (like Warhol!) They have docents and Taggers(teen docents) available often at certain exhibits to help out. Overall nice people nice atmosphere easy parking and great place.
PROS: Art, People, Size, Ambiance
CONS: expensive food
For only $3 what can you really get? A third of a movie? Half a popcorn? A gallon of gas? For three dollars this gallery is well worth the price. Parking's pretty easy(its in balboa park afterall) and the location's easy to spot (if you've never been there before there's a map on the website)
P.S. Students, Military and Seniors are $2!!! But make sure to bring an ID
When I signed up for a membership here the sales man was very pushy. He was shocked that I read the entire packet and confused when I wanted him to put what he was saying in writing. He also assured me I would never wait in a line for a machine. 24 might have great machines but I never found out, shortly after signing up I cnacelled for a full refund. Slimy salesmen aren't very appealing.
PROS: Equipment, Location, Validates Parking
I won't comment on the facilites which may very well be up to par, but when I went to cancel my membership the staff was uninformed, denied the california mandated 72 hour refund and wouldn't give me written documentation of my cancelation. Once I got high enough in management things were fine, but it was certainly a hassle!
PROS: Equipment, Prices, Parking
Pizza with toppings caked on to the heavens and garlic cheese break literally soaked in butter, cheese and well garlic. Nothing is particularly spectacular about sauces or recipes, but its good eats at good prices with lots of food. Delivery is also an option for only an extra $2 or so. Staff is friendly atmosphere is cute.
PROS: food, quantity, staff
Kind of dirty, kind of scary, and kind of intimidating this is a great hole in the wall dive bar. Drinks are moderately priced, but there's kareoke!!!
It is not in the best part of town but happy hour specials are chepa. My advice: looking for a high class joint to go for after work cocktails? This is not your place! Looking for a lpace to hide away until Monday....BINGO
PROS: Atmosphere, Kareoke
CONS: Safety, Atmosphere
