Everytime I wear my favorite hat, somebody asks me where i got it, I say, "atlas" and then they always say,"I love atlas." And it's true... atlas is a great clothing store. Cool shoes and hats, funky things that you can't find anywhere else.

Cowgirls Inc

I felt shame, guilt and an array of saddness for the girls of cowgirls inc. they are made to dance on the bar every hour or is it every half hour...? at any rate, if you are going to ride the bull, ride it, have a good time and then get out before the rednecks show up becasue they show up in DROVES!!!!

Mae Phim Thai Restaurant

if you're downtown and it's lunchtime, I would suggest you find your way to Mae Phim. I haven't been in a while, but the last time I was there nothing on the menu was over six bucks and the food was... pretty good.

Cornish College of the Arts

The best four years of my life were spent in the darkened theater spaces of the Cornish College of the Arts. If you are considering Cornish for your BFA you should really take a close look. I am a little bias, being an alumni, but Cornish is truly a world class education. It has been called, for good reason, the "Julliard of the West Coast."

University Book Store

you can find just about any book on any subject at the UW bookstore and if they don't have it, they'll order it. Youcan also get all kinds of office supplies and art supplies here too.

Bamboo Garden

wow. when i was a vegetarian i would crave the bamboo garden, it was like heaven to me. they make all kinds of fake meat, like morningstar farms, and it is great. Fridays and Saturdays you might think about calling to make a reservation.

Book-It Repertory Theatre

Oh my god, look out, it's an original idea!!! Dramaticized books, complete with all the "He saids" and "She saids" and it is just wonderful to see people being so inventive.

Cha Cha Lounge

The Cha Cha Lounge is the place for you! I never felt so out of place in a bar in all my life as I did when I went to the Cha. (that's what the hipster call it.. the cha.) It is for coked out wannabe scenesters and hip heroin rockers.

PROS: Bimbo's makes an awesome burrito...
CONS: everything but the burritos...

Utrecht Art Supplies

It doesn't matter what medium you are working with, Utrecht will have supplies for you and for a good price. Their staff is very smart, helpful and nice.

Capitol Hill Camping & Surplus

you can't find cheaper tents anywhere else on Capitol Hill. Also, sweet pocket knives and army t-shirts, hats, camping supplies. All of your outdoor needs.
