but is that really such abad thing? the food is good, the bread is usually fresh, the veggies are prepped in the store, how much better can life get?
I have always loved cafeterias. Doesn't everyone? You can look at the food and pick out exactly what you want with no surprises. and Piccadilly is particularly good. Their desserts are always wonderful and I love their pork chops with cheesy mashed potatoes. So far, every salad I've had, and I've had just about every kind they offer, has been a treat. And their breads, YUMMY!!! What is better than fresh home made bread or corn bread?
Well, maybe not so much the presentation as the attitudes of some of the employees.
It's a cute idea, a 50's type diner with real diner food, including blue plate specials and shakes and stuff, and the food is usually pretty good, but some of the wait staff really seem to resent being there and somehow that really detracts from the whole dining experience for me.
But that's ok because C.C.'s has lots of other choices. Most of their teas are quite good, although the dragon tea was quite disappointing, and the mochasippis can be ordered without espresso. The white chocolate and the chocolate raspberry are my personal favorites.
Their pasties, quiches and sandwiches are also good and my friends love the chocolate covered coffee beans.
They are open fairly late and have a meeting room that can be used for free.
OK, it looks like a hole in the wall. ut the food is WONDERFUL!!! The presentation will never be four star but for the quality and price you just can't do any better. and if you have one of those weird kids who'd rather have Burger King, they'll let you bring in a meal for him!!!
We've been dining at Yee's since we moved to Slidell 23 years ago and it's still one of our fave restaurants. The Mandarin Chicken and Mandarin Duck are always top notch. My husband LOVES the egg foo young, any flavor, and the all day specials are a wonderful value, getting an entree, egg roll and fried rice at one low price.
The food is fabuouls, the selection is varied and most of the week the prices are fabulous!!! And the duck, sadly only served when the prices are higher, is WONDERFUL!!! Can you tell we LOVE this place??? We've been going since they first opened. we have several friends who have lived in China and Japan and who are gourmet oriental cooks and they love this place as well.
iI've been looking forward to going to Hero's since they opened last year. Today was the big day and frankly, I think I'd rather go to Subway. The "bbq" was simply not very good roast beef with some pretty bad bbq sauce slopped on it. The roast beef po boy was the same beef although the gravy was pretty good. But I have a hard time with spending $6.00 for gravy and bread. The fries were also not very good.
We LOVE China Buffet. Their sushi is wonderful, their soups are fabulous and the rest of their food is even better. and they offer Blue Bell ice cream. How much better can life get???
I think Imperial Chopsticks has the best potstickers in town. the Cashew chicken is fabulous as well. And i love their waitstaff and decor. The portions are generous and i always get a second meal out of whatever I have ordered.
