Captain D's is very good. They serve decent portions of fried fish and chicken, with traditional sides of cole slaw, french fries and hush puppies. Both the fish and the chicken are excellent. It's too fattening to go often, though!
PROS: Good FISH and Chicken
CONS: Too fattening - all fried food!
The Beau Rivage is a beautiful place. The rooms are nice, the casino is large and clean. The hotel area is beautiful. I dined at the coffeeshop - Cafe Jardin. The setting was beautiful. Food was seriously overpriced for common fare. The meatloaf was $14. I ordered a greek salad, which was good, but accompanied by a dried piece of pita bread. My daughter ordered a childrens meal, chicken fingers and fries and never got the fries. My friend orderd a burger, for $10, she said it didn't taste good. My iced tea was old and foul.
The wait for the food was long, about 45 minutes.
Mostly - I was disapointed in the very high price, and below average food. You are paying for the beautiful hotel.
PROS: Pretty, clean, great valet service
CONS: Expensive, food wasn't good, service wasn't good.
This is my neighborhood Blockbuster. The employees are friendly. The selection of common favorites is good. They have a good stock of new releases. I like to buy DVD's, and they usually run specials, like buy 2 get 1 free, or two for $20. I have had no problem returning the few damaged dVD's I have purchased over the years.
PROS: convenient, good selection, nice employees
CONS: Expensive rentals, small foreign section
The best thing about the Blow Fly Inn is the location. Set back on the bay, it's pretty hard to find. The menu, in my opinion, is limited. Too much fried fish, fried food. I recommend passing on the fried food and going straight for the dessert case, which is good.
PROS: Good location - secluded on the water.
CONS: Limited menu - mostly fried local favorites. A bit pricey.
If you have allergies or asthma, Dr. Leavengood is the best doctor to see. My daughter suffered for years, went to dozens of doctors, from pediatricans to general practitioners, and nobody treated her asthma as effectively and swiftly has Dr. Leavengood.
When you get your appointment, expect to wait. The Dr. spend a good hour with each patient, as he will with you. A very congenial fellow, I highly recommend Dr. Leavengood!
PROS: Excellent doctor, pays a great deal of attention with patients
Lowes employs people who really seem to like their job, and are ready to answer as many questions as you might have about completing a project. This Lowes has a nice garden center. We have used this Lowes for many home improvement supplies and projects, from ceramic tiling our house to putting up a privacy fence. We always shop Lowes first.
PROS: Good selection, very friendly people
Stein Mart is one of those stores that has alot of stuff to choose from, but I end up leaving empty handed. I did catch an excellent shoe sale there, once, and bought about 10 pair of shoes. But, usually I end up with nothing. It's hard to find a sales person if you have a question, and paying can be lengthy, if the store is busy there is usually a line.
PROS: Lots of merchandise to look through
CONS: Prices are high
This mall store carries a good selection of inexpensive costume jewelry. I had my daughter's ears peirced at this location, and the man that did it was very patient with my daughter's screams. He took about 20 extra minutes just talking to her, and really did a good job.
PROS: Good selection of costume jewelry
This Goodwill is a small store. They have good tag sales, just look for specific colored tags to receive certain percentages off. I have found excellent movies and books there, too.
PROS: Bargain hunter paradise
CONS: Very small
Hobby Lobby is a crafty persons dream! They also carry ornamental items, faux flowers and plants, material and art supplies. You can spend hours browsing the store. They really have something for everybody!
PROS: Awesome selection of craft supplies
