Thrift Center
This Thrift Center location is not as nice as the Renton location. I found their store dirty and unorganized. They do have some great prices but I didn't find many name brand items. There's not a whole lot of parking so keep that in mind if you try their store on the weekend.
Thrift Center
This is by far my favorite thrift shop of all. They are locally owned and operated and carry a ton of super nice items. They don't price things very high on most things and you will often find a sale. Every day, they offer 50% off tags and 75% tags. On Saturday and Wednesday, they offer 30% off everything. And you will find many days where everything in the store is 50% off. I found this store very well organized. Be sure to check out the racks by the cash register to find some newer name brand items.
Value Village
This Value Village location probably carries the nicer stuff in the area. You will find a ton of name brand clothing items in tip top shape. Their prices can be steep on some things so be sure to visit on the .99 tag day on Monday. This location is also one of the larger ones in the area and is fairly clean.
Goodwill
This Goodwill location is one of the better ones. I've found many treasures in here for reasonable prices. Some items can be a bit higher priced than other thrift shops, but you can usually snatch those up on a sale day for the right price. It's very clean inside and it's either a new store or recently remodeled. The staff are friendly and were very helpful when I had to exchange an item.
Johnson's Home and garden
Johnsons Home and Garden is a local Maple Valley Do-It Center that carries all kinds of different home fixing items. The store itself is clean and the staff friendly. Prices are ok but I would recommend researching prices compared to Home Depot or Lowes if you are on a budget and are doing a larger project in your home. A nice perk is the free popcorn they give out.
Fairwood Pet Center
Fairwood Pet Center is a small pet store but so much friendlier than youll find at a chain pet store, like PetCo. They have a lot of pet care items as well as some animals for purchase. The animals they carry change often so each time you visit, you are bound to meet a new pet. Prices are high so if you are on a budget, this isnt the right pet shop for you. Most people dont even realize this pet store is here and when my family first found it, we really enjoyed browsing the store.
Cascade Beauty College LLC
Cascade Beauty College is a good college for those seeking to be hairstylists. A friend graduated from there and does a wonderful job on my hair. If you happen to stop in and let the students do your hair, be prepared to wait awhile. Not only are they busy, since they are learning, they also take longer on your hair. The professor also has to check your style before you walk out the door so the student can be graded properly.
Renton License Agency
Renton License Agency is usually very busy and crowded. Dont anticipate finding a parking space nearby, so be sure to park in the lot in the middle of the housing development kitty corner to the office behind the train station. I would avoid the noon hour as well as opening and just before closing times. Also, if you call the office, you will get a machine. Leave a message and they should get back to you the same day.
Photos to Go
Photos To Go is an established film developing store near Fred Meyer in the Bensen area. They can develop your film in an hours time or make color copies for you. They also work with digital cameras and can retouch your old photos. The prices are a little high but you will find your prints are higher quality than they would be if you were to take your film into Fred Meyer.
Kiel Mortgage
Kiel Mortgage is a company with integrity. I was very impressed with their service. I found them to be up front and honest and they didnt pressure my husband and I to sign on the dotted line just so they could make a few bucks. The lady we spoke with was very helpful and tried her best to find something that might work for us but in the end, we were unable to buy at the time.
