This market is small and not very well kept. The aisles are cramped and the food looks a bit sketchy. They have a wide variety of produce, but the environment doesn't make me want to shop there.
I could spend hours looking through cards here! They have an abundant selection of cards for any occasion. They also have gift items, but they are usually pricey. The staff members greet you with a smile and are friendly and helpful. There's always parking available too. You can't go wrong with Hallmark!
This is a wonderful store. They have an impressive selection of frames and custom framing as well. If you're into scrapbooking or other crafty things, they have a fair amount of supplies. Overall, you're not going to find the best prices here. I would actually say most frames here, while nice, are overpriced. But they do have a semi-annual "penny sale" where you can buy any frame and get another one of equal or lesser value (as long as it has a sticker on it) for a penny! That's the best time to shop there.
At this particular location, they aren't well staffed, so you may have to wait a while if you have a question.
For your basic needs, sports chalet is a good option. They have a wide variety of equipment for all sorts of sports from football to fly fishing. The workers there are friendly but you may need to search to find the ones who really know what they're talking about. Compared to other sporting good stores, the prices here are pretty low.
I went on a slow day, so the lines were extremely short and the parking was simple. The guided tour around the park is interesting because the guides are extremely knowledgeable and also funny. But this may not be that exciting for younger kids because you don't get a chance to see many animals up close. It seems nicer than a zoo for the animals because they have such wide-open spaces to roam, but that means that they aren't very close to you. They have an option to go out in a truck and feed some of the giraffes, but I didn't have an opportunity to do that. For that option, the price increases. Overall, it's a fun opportunity to see the animals in their recreated "natural habitat."
This park is well priced and offers great deals on season passes, which is nice for the locals. They also have a deal where you can shop for free for 45 minutes, which allows you to catch a ride or maybe a few exhibits as well while inside. The set up is spectacular, and the aquatic life they have is exceptional. My favorite part is walking through areas with the glass walls so you can walk along side a whale while it's swimming. Parking is reasonable.
This little store has the friendliest staff around. They have a nice selection of cards and stationary as well as a pharmacy that will fill any prescription. They sell a great deal of other items such as beauty supplies and cosmetics, but the prices aren't very competitive. The store isn't open very late, so if you need a prescription filled at any odd hours, your best bet is a Walgreens or some sort of 24-hour place.
I absolutely love Target! I probably go there once a week for anything I need. It was the best prices around. They keep up to date with their clothing. Granted, they aren't name brands, but they still look really nice for half the cost. Also, I will never buy a DVD anywhere but here. They have amazing deals! I got a season of a TV show for $30 (not even on sale), and the same one at Best Buy was listed for $45. Overall, the store is organized and very clean. The workers are helpful in directing you to what you're looking for. The lines move somewhat slow, but it's worth it. The parking isn't ideal. If you're willing to take a little walk, there's always parking, but if you want a good spot you have to get lucky. I don't know what people did before there was Target...
As far as thrift stores go, this is a gold mine. It's the largest thrift store I've ever been to. The selection is huge. I'm not really a fan of these stores because they smell funny to me, but the money you save makes it worth it. It's nothing a good washing can't take care of. Also, they usually have some sort of deal on certain color tags, such as 50% off blue tag items for example. The store is as organized as possible. The line is usually long, but it moves pretty quickly. If you want to save a little cash on some clothes, furniture, basically anything you can think of, come to amvets!
This Vons location is open 24 hours a day, which is very helpful in times of need. Most Vons today have a Starbucks inside, but this one doesn't, so take that as you will. This Vons location is smaller than others and the parking lot is pretty small as well, but whatever you need, they have in stock. I've never had a problem with that. The customer service there is reasonable...nothing to rave about, but I've never been treated poorly.
