This is a great ice cream shop. All of their ice cream is home-made and is delicious. The shop also has a strong neighborhood presence, as they have always had a booth at local street fairs and community events. Staff is always friendly and the ice cream always hits the spot.
SDSU is known as being a party school and sure enough if you walk around campus you will hear and see enough to confirm this. The undergrads are a little over the top. However in my experience, the faculty is very strong and there is a lot of research happening on campus. As a grad student I have been impressed with the class size and the quality of my program.
It is stressful for me to search for a new dentist in a new city and that's why I was so pleased to come across Padre Dental Group. I felt like I was in capable, caring hands. The office is very nice too. It is a relatively relaxing experience to go in for a cleaning. It would be nice if they could validate parking though.
PROS: Clean, comfortable
CONS: Pay parking
I went to UCSD as an undergrad and thought it was OK. The lecturers are intelligent but for the most part are not very charismatic. I liked how the university is broken down into smaller colleges, and I liked the location to some degree. La Jolla is beautiful, but doesn't have that much to do.
PROS: Good research opportunities
I like going to Cliff Brown because of their genuine honesty and friendliness. The first time I was there, I saw an elderly customer pull up in a new car and she asked if the serviceman could help screw on her new license plate. He did it for free and couldn't have been friendlier about it. That really impressed me. I have experienced the same level of service. Also good prices on smog checks.
I had never painted interior walls before, so I was hoping for some guidance at the paint store in terms of color choice, equipment, etc. The store was very clean and well-stocked but I found that the counter staff was not very willing to help, and the employees were mostly teenage boys who were instead talking to their friends who were hanging out in the store. I was able to walk away with what I needed though.
This is the only staffing agency I have used where I actually felt respected and intelligent. My recruiter was very supportive, and had me check in before and after an interview to see how it went and to help make me comfortable. In fact I got the first placement I interviewed for, which turned into a permanent job. I have been very happy there and thank Monument Staffing for their good matching in placement.
These offices are very new and modern. The receptionist is friendly and very accomodating. However, the dentist I saw misdiagnosed several dental problems. I had her do part of the work, then saw another dentist at a different clinic. The new dentist confirmed my suspicions that in fact I did not need ANY work at all done. This was a frustrating and painful (physically and financially) experience for me and I would never go back to Kappa dental.
This store has a lot of useful tech accessories, and I usually stop in there to buy things like blank CDs, cases, etc. If you are looking for higher-level items, like if you actually want to buy a computer or camera there, be prepared to fight for the attention of the salespeople. It's not that they are unhelpful, but more that there are not enough staff to cover the number of customers they get in there on a weekend. Easy to get in and out for the smaller items though.
Although this Staples is smaller than many of their other locations, I have amazingly enough still been able to find everything that I need. I also like that it has an area where you can drop off your old cell phone/batteries/print cartridges etc. for recycling. It's in a convenient location, near the subway station. If you can catch a sale there are some good prices.
