Shopping at Sam's Club is what you've come to expect - buying in bulk at less-than-retail pricing. There is a wide range of products available and many recognized brands. My biggest complaint is that they limit payment options and there isn't a Sam's conveniently located in southern Delaware County (the closest is Morse Road).
PROS: Low-than-retail prices when you buy in bulk
CONS: Located in congested area, usually crowded in store, limited payment option
I tried a cake from Bachmans one year for my daughter's birthday and I've ordered many others since. It's wonderful cake - lots of choices for cake toppers and design. Especially for children's cakes. They are reasonably priced and quickly prepared. Wonderful flavors and tastes!
PROS: Excellent taste and many design options
This location stays busy so I should cut them some slack...
I've had a few problems with incorrect orders and cold coffee (and that's not what I ordered). They are also habitually out of blueberry muffins - and my kids only like blueberry muffins, not the blueberry coffee cake! ;-)
The drive-thru line is typically line and employees like to chit-chat among themselves. But it's still Starbucks so I'm willing to forgive! ;-)
PROS: It's still Starbucks!
CONS: Experienced incorrect orders, cold coffee and no blueberry muffins
I've had the most luck at this location - they typically have all of the items I typically order (i.e. pastries). The drive-thru line isn't usually terribly long. Employees are often animated and appreciative - and they get the orders right! Yah!
PROS: Fun employees, correct orders, items usually available
CONS: sometimes wait in drive-thru
I like Best Buy - they have a large selection and most of the time, the employees actively offer help. I'm not sure that all of them are knowledgeable about what they're selling, so do your homework before you go.
They are certainly not the cheapest electronics/computer store but offers the convenience of one-stop shopping and you can feel pretty confident that they'll have what you are looking for. There are times, however, when they offer fabulous deals (e.g. during the holidays).
They also offer a pretty nice rewards program based on purchases. Most employees are very pleasant and helpful (i.e. offer to help load heavy items into your car). They've also paired up with GeekSquad to service your computer on-site or at your home.
PROS: Large selection of electronics and computers, one-stop shopping
CONS: Not lowest priced, not all employees are well-educated on product
What's in a name? Is it Lazarus? Lazarus-Macys? Or Macys? It's hard to say but the location has stayed the same. Macys has been one of those stores that is "hit or miss." I think it's become dated (e.g. just look at the Christmas decorations) but maybe the corporate shakeup will result in some updates.
The selection has suffered over the last few years and the same items can frequently be purchased at a specialty store for half the price (e.g. Carter's infant wear at Macys $24.00, drive across the street to the Carter's Store and buy for $5.00 - actual experience).
PROS: anchor store at Polaris Fashion Place
CONS: outdated - although high-priced - investory
Filene's basement typically has a unique offering of exclusive brands - some not available anywhere else in Columbus. Items are significantly less than original retail pricing.
They have the largest selection of men's and women's (including misses, petites, plus and juniors) clothing. They have added a children's section but it's pretty limited. Women's accessories (handbags, sunglasses, hosiery) is also pretty expansive with top brands. The store shares space with DSW Shoe Warehouse.
PROS: Large selection, makes top brands more accessible
CONS: limited children's selection, inventory fluctuates
It really is a superstore. Since they redesigned the store some time ago, it is a very nice presentation. They offer a large selection of nearly any and all baby items - feeding, bathing, bedding, clothing, and more. Items range in price for many budgets. You aren't likely to find any "steals" - even on clearance items. Be sure to check you receipt before you leave the store - I was charged for two items that I didn't purchase.
They also offer baby registry services.
PROS: Large selection of baby categories and items within each category
CONS: Not usually the cheapest, overcharged on recent purchase
This is a well-run organization - you typically don't spend much time in the waiting room. I recently had surgery done on my face and I was quite nervous. The doctors and nurses immediately put me at ease, explained every procedure, and offered treatment options.
I'd never had surgery or stitches - and worse, it was on my face - but the doctor was very friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. He was also very easy to talk to (no question was dismissed) and talked to me throughout the procedure so I would stay calm and distracted.
Appointments were set within seven days.
I healed without incident (no bruising, minimal swelling). What could have been a traumatizing experience was actually very pleasant - highly recommended.
PROS: Competent care, sincere interest in your health and success of procedure
I was introduced to DeSantis when I came home after delivering one of my children. There was a large flower bouquet, complete with congratulatory balloon and sweet stuffed animal. It was absolutely beautiful and I've ordered from them ever since!
Designs are so elegant and unique, without all the cheap filler carnations and greenery. Unique color combinations and unusual flowers - not overly contemporary (although I'm sure they could design if that's your preference). If you are sending for an occasion when there will be other floral gifts, you can be assured that yours will stand out from all of the wired bouquets.
Highly recommended (especially for men in the doghouse)!
PROS: Unique, beautiful arrangements. Fairly priced.
CONS: More costly but well worth it.
