Cowtown Boots
I am from the original Cowtown: Fort Worth, Texas. I didn't think this place would even be worth walking into, but I was pleasantly surprised. They offer a nice selection of boots from Justin, Tony Llama, Lucchese and others, and at decent prices. They also have a big selection of hats, jeans, shirts, belts and buckles to complete your western ensemble.
Big 5 Sporting Goods
We always go to Big 5 when the kids need soccer or t-ball supplies. I know they will have mid-range stuff at good prices. They don't usually carry anything fancy or high-end, but if all you need is a good tennis racquet or a new basketball, Big 5 is great.
Trails Department Store
I went to this store the first time thinking it was an outdoors sporting goods place. Instead, I walked into a "smoke shop." They sell "lifestyle accessories" for smokers who like to roll their own, um, cigarettes. They also carry very nice incense and interesting t-shirts and posters, but don't be fooled by the name.
Crismon's Baby Boutique
Crismon's has very nice baby clothes, furniture and accessories. Their showroom has several "nurseries" set up so that you can see exactly how the crib you want would look with the bedding you want.
However, they are rather expensive and their hours are crazy. They are not open on Sunday, Monday or Tuesdays and they close early on Saturdays. If you have to special order something, be prepared to wait several weeks.
PROS: Nice selection, beautiful bedding
CONS: Weird hours, slow delivery
Lasting Images Photography
Lasting Images does amazing wedding photography. They don't just take the traditional bride, groom, family posed shots, but work with you to really capture the essence of your day. I have seen lots of their work and am always impressed by how unique each wedding is.
Kabloom
Kabloom offers really different arrangements. Their flowers are always fresh and gorgeous and they have a huge selection of plants you just won't find anywhere else.
Vision Gallery
Vision Gallery is a fine art gallery that has a beautiful collection of paintings, ceramics and glass objects by local artists. They rotate the collection on a regular basis so there is always something new to see. They also have a great kids program called VisionKidz that teaches elementary age kids how to create and appreciate lots of different art forms.
Serendipity
Serendipity is a great place to find unique gifts or cards. The have a very cool selection of books, stationery, home decor, art and knick-knacks. Located in downtown Chandler, it is a fun place to spend the afternoon browsing.
Berean Christian Stores
Berean is huge. They have the largest selection I've ever seen of Christian books, movies, gifts and music. If you there's anything they don't have, they can special order it for you. Their staff is friendly, and the prices are not too bad.
Terris Consign & Design Furnishings
I like going to Terri's because you never know what you'll find and they have some very unusual items. They sell furniture and accessories on consignment and are generally very picky about what they take. However, their prices can be a little steep... you can sometimes buy new at the same or better price.
