This taxi is not one company but many independent cabbies who pay a central dispatch to dispatch them. So, occasionally you get a strange or grumpy cabdriver but hey, doesn't that happen anywhere you hail a cab? For the most part they are courteous, clean and friendly. I call them first everytime I need a cab and they haven't been late yet!
This is a small but compact natural and organic produce and grocery store. It is a pleasant place to shop and many shoppers are the local neighbors making it a place to stop and spend a moment chatting. Prices are reasonable and stock is more than adequate for the size.
This store has it all. Fabric in types and colors and price ranges. Teachers who not only teach but design. Knowledgeable help and friendly too. It is a favorite stop of mine several times a year to make yet another project with some delectable fabric, yarn or buttons.
This business has succeeded for almost a decade in one spot, no small matter on the highly coveted Solano 'Ave' street scene. They carry a large sampling of fabrics meant mostly for quilting use and offer a variety of classes for all levels. I find them a bit high priced for my budget but for the location, the pricing is fair.
Trader Joes really doesn't need a review. They have built a powerful reputation for themselves of a natural and organic store that sells almost everything one needs from produce, vitamins and pet food. Not all is offered and they stress flash frozen quicky meals but the price is impossible to beat. The service friendly and the location great.
There is not a thing wrong with the service, the smiles or the juice except for the price of the amount of useless calories you are getting in the "juice". To be fair this is true of all the "Jamba's" out there. If a sweet treat is what you want instead of a healthy alternative then this is the juice place for you.
Yum. Zacharys is fantastic. The restuarant is small, so I recomend calling in and getting one of their pizzas that are half baked and taking it home to finish it off and watch a great dvd with the pizza piping hot from your oven. Their lunch slices are a great deal as well. They consisently win awards year after year for their pizza, this is no secret pizza place, the words been out for years.
The owner is a caring, determined woman who cares about your child and your child's health. This is a fun place to let your child exercise or a serious place for your child to be on a team that reguarly wins ribbons in competition. The owner is more than willing to take the time out and talk with you about your child individually and after a short time she will probably even remember your name. Highly recomend. Safe enivorment.
The Berkeley Botanical Garden has several sections to wander in and even to picnic in. It has a few large greenhouses with very old plants from around the world. Parking is across the street and easy to find. The walking time for the whole garden is about two hours and is a great way to spend the day. Usually not crowded.
This store not only sells almost everything a average beader needs but offers great classes. Their prices are competitive with the large stores and sometimes cheaper. The owner/staff is wonderful. Stop in and get the bead bug.
