This Fantastic Sam's offers great prices and great hairstylists. While you are saving money, you are also guaranteed a cut with style - unlike some of the other "bargain" salons. Walk-ins are welcome - in fact, they don't make appointments. So, if you are willing to wait, or are lucky, you can get in with your favorite stylist the same day you want your hair cut.

This is a great place to go if you have the whole day, otherwise plan on only visiting the different regions in segments. A day-long visit can be somewhat overwhelming to children and pocketbooks, but if you have the energy and the money, then by all means, go to it.
All of the displays are excellent and many are interactive, hands-on fun. You can visit the tropics or the actic and everywhere in between.
A season or year pass is strongly recommended as you'll surely want to come again!

The Como Zoo is a great place to bring kids (if you have them) or go on a date. The size is user-friendly and make for a great afternoon excursion. In comparison to the Minnesota Zoo, it is much more conducisive to a couple hours, rather than a whole-day-long event which leaves you and your pocket exhausted.
PROS: Old-school style, fun
CONS: Not fun to visit in bad weather or cold
This was an exciting introduction to Indian food. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and an excellent menu. For the novice, I would suggest ordering the mild sauces, as the medium seemed quite hot in spiciness/heat to me.

The Albert Lea Library offers chlldren a wide selection of summer reading programs to take part in. It also hosts other events, such as the parties for the new Harry Potter releases. A great selection of books, audio books and DVD/movies.
A nice bonus is that this library offers a full-week check-out for DVD/movies with a limit of four each.

The Kiester Library is open Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the summer it hosts several children's reading programs. It also hosts some events, such as the Zoo Man. A reasonable selection will tide a ravenous reader and once you read out your favorite authors the librarian will work with you to make new selections available.

This gas station is full of character and a is a rarity among convenience store giants. It is a full service station - a great place to stop anytime - especially when you don't want to get your hands dirty!
If you are admire gun collections, this is also the place to stop and have a conversation with the owner, Dale Wolfe. He has a full collection of guns. And he also has on display, arrowheads and native artifacts.

This swimming pool is good and basic. Although larger than Bricelyn's swimming pool it is often crowded. Nice facilities. Attractice setting. It also has a kiddie pool.

This campgrounds is wooded and attractive. If offers a nice place to stay for families with kids. It also has a nice swimming pool. For anyone who wants to go fishing there are several fishable lakes nearby - the closest being Bear Lake. It is an enjoyable campgounds.

This museum, although lacking in glam and gleam, is a great place to spend the afternoon. The displays are interesting and well-done and there is a "village" to walk through and see life of yesteryear.
