The Dollar General Store here in town is a good place to buy snacks of all types (candy, crackers, potato chips and others), plus they have spices and soups that are much cheaper than at the grocery stores. The clothing area is very small, but the cleaners and laundry supplies area is quite large.
My family loves the Big Lots store here in town. It has a great selection of things to choose from at very low prices, compared to the grocery and department stores here. I like the fact that things change often, so there are always new things to look at and to buy. They change seasonal merchandise like any other store does, but they also offer things that are hard to find otherwise. The furniture area is pretty big and always looks very nice. This store has a nice variety of toys from infant to teen interests.
I think the Jc Penney store in Huntington is overpriced. I cannot afford to buy clothes there for my husband, myself or our daughter, as it just is not within our budget. The salespeople seem a little snobbish, like I am not good enough to shop in their store. The store itself is not too bad, as it is clean and everything. It is crowded and no room to get around much without running into the clothing racks. This is just not the type of place for my family.
Our Walmart store has very good prices on diapers in the baby department. I buy the store brand of diapers, White Cloud, as they are under fifteen dollars for a big box of them in my daughter's size. They work and fit her well, and at the low prices, we cannot pass them up. Prices for paper supplies like toilet paper, facial tissues and paper towels are low on name brands as well. Walmart helps us save money.
