I attended a wedding back in September 2010 and the bride was very unhappy with the flowers. The food was the worst I have ever had, couldn't even be chew the beef it was so tough. The bathrooms are NOT HANDICAP friendly.
It is small but quaint, the kind of place I would want to go on a snowy winter evening. Menu is limited but the prime rib special was excellent and plentiful enough to take home for lunch the next day. The waitress even threw in an extra loaf of bread.
I just have to be the first to shout about the newest eatery in Lapeer County. We had lunch there today and the food was excellent, the selection was different from other area buffets and the price was very reasonable. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service was wonderful. They do have a take out menu and it states "WE DON'T USE MSG" & "100% VEGETABLE OIL". These are both items that you hate to ask but if you are allergic you need to know. They even take credit cards.
PROS: In a small strip mall on the main drag in town, ample parking.
If you need blood work and have poor veins this is not the place to seek medical care. There wasn't one person in that office that could draw my blood without making me black and blue. If you have to access patient assistance programs for any reason the staff there is not only uneducated but uncooperative. The doctor herself is friendly and does not rush your care but lack of other services does not make up for the fact that this is the only doctor in the county I could find that took Medicaid.
I don't remember when this florist wasn't there but it is family owned and operated. They have wonderful ideas and the shop is salted with wonderful antiques and interesting hand crafted accents. Always fresh scents and smiling friendly faces greet you when you enter. Their flower prices are very competitive. I would rather deal with friendly local business than run to the city any day.
PROS: Easy parking, fresh flowers, fresh ideas
CONS: Parking is on Main Street which can be limited
Buccilli's has awesome pizza but what we like best is the garlic dip/spread for the cheesy bread sticks. On occasion we have even been able to get home delivery which in the country is almost impossible. They also bake and decorate cakes for any occasion so if you have a something to celebrate it can be a one stop shop. Their prices are very reasonable. Being just 2 doors down from the Speedway which always has pop specials helps eliminate running in circles.
PROS: Reasonable prices, quality fresh food
I don't really remember how long it has been but at least 14 years that Charlie Brown's has been the place to go all day Tuesday and Thursday if you love TACOS. They are homemade soft shell tacos that are hot and fresh with all the ingredients you love and hot sauce on the side. Always 2 for $4, the price is right and 2 make a full meal for me. There isn't anyone in our family that doesn't think they make the best taco in the world. The root beer and ginger ale floats take you back the 50"s.
PROS: Best tacos in the world
CONS: lines get long at lunch and dinner time
We visited this restaurant not long ago for breakfast and maybe it is just us because the place is always packed from opening to closing. My husband was not at all impressed with the pancakes although the portion was generous. I was even less impressed with my potatoes and there was no variety in spread for my toast not to mention my bacon was over done and so were my eggs. I also found the coffee to be a bit bitter and getting a second cup was not very successful. We did not think the prices were all that cheap and there was nothing on the menu that would lure us back for lunch or dinner. It does have a friendly atmosphere but the service and the food just don't quite meet the competition.
PROS: plenty of parking
CONS: always a wait for a table
The best in the county ribs are always on, the fish is always fresh, and the pizza can't be beat. Greg's is a favorite gathering place for lunch or dinner and on the weekend best to time your visit for off hours because dinner time is always a packed house. Lots of choices on the menu and the bread sticks are always hot and delicious. There is a full bar if you are up for a celebration or just beer with the pizza or cocktails before dinner. And don't forget dessert that is if you have any room left as the portions here are more than generous. Greg's has a welcoming family environment.
PROS: Great food, great service, plenty of parking
This was my father-in-laws favorite place for breakfast and when my mother-in-law is in town she still wants to go there because she loves their pancakes and she can always get just one egg. I found that they serve a great cup of coffee and always keep it hot and full. I love the basic bacon, egg, and toast because they know how to cook the bacon just right and the eggs are never over done. It's a little corner place that has a perfect morning sun and never seems to be crowded and the prices are down to earth. Parking is plentiful even for handicapped.
PROS: breakfast any time of day
