Oriental Market
Although small in size, this place is able to pack a whole lot of goodies into every corner. I was able to find some pretty elusive food items after checking this place out. It takes some time to go through everything, unless you know exactly what you are looking for, but it is worth it.
Breadroot Natural Foods Cooperative
This place has an awesome selection of organic produce, plus a large area of bulk herbs and spices, along with regulare natural food and body products. You can just come in and buy what they have to offer, but the place is actually a cooperative that you can join and get discounts off of what you buy. As a cooperative member you are also given the chance to help out at the store and get an even bigger discount. This is definately a place to check out if you are into feeding yourself and your family with nutritious food.
Benja's Mexican Store
The atmosphere of this little place is great! You feel like you stepped into a little piece of Mexico. The layout is fun if you're not in too great of a hurry and I'm sure it is authentic for a Mexican store. You'll have pairs of shoes next to the fresh produce and toothpaste next to children's toys. One of the things I like best is the fresh produce that you need to make authentic Mexican food that you can't find at regulare grocery stores. Definately a place I'll visit again and again.
Flowers By Le Roy
At first glance this would seem to be the perfect place to get your flowers, but I have been unhappy in my dealings with them. I recieved a bouquet of roses that was ordered long distance. When they were delivered to me they were wilted and looked basically dead. They were only willing to replace the roses that looked the worst. The person who sent them felt cheated of his money and let me know that he felt they had charged him an outrageous sum for the flowers to have been delivered the way they were.
Fabric & Textile Warehouse
I love going in this store. It is a seamstresses paradise. They have an incredibly large selection of material for just about any project you'd be contemplating. As someone who does sewing projects a little outside of the mainstream this place is wonderful! The pricing is reasonable and they run good sales. The only problem I have with it is the layout seems a little strange and the lighting is a little difficult to see by.
Fabric Junction
I choose to have my wedding dress made by the lady who runs this store. I appreciated the personal touch she was able to offer and the very reasonable pricing. The store itself it actually more geared to quilting and is great if you're needing something in a hurry. There isn't a lot of selection in the fabrics she has to offer, but she has the essentials.
Ray Dental Group
I used Dr. Rempel who worked for Ray Dental Group for quite a while. He offered the type of dental care I was looking for, a more alternative approach. He has since stopped working for them and I've not been back. The dental group itself was very pleasant and I enjoyed visiting with the hygenist. They were organized and I never had any problems with my insurance with them.
Lotus Dental
For a while I used Dr. Ron Loftus as my dentist and he is good at what he does. I began feeling however to be manipulated into doing more with my teeth than I was willing as far as cosmetic procedures go. After working at a dental lab for a short time I also began to feel that he is willing to cut corners with some of the more money making procedure such as bridge and crown work. Because of this I started looking for a different dentist.
Northern Hills Federal Credit Union
I've done my banking here all my life and have never had an extreme problem with them. When new help is hired I always have to check the account my money has been placed into as I've had it go missing several times. I enjoy going to the Spearfish branch more than the Sturgis branch, just because lately they seem much more efficient and capable. This credit union has been able to help me so far with all my financial needs.
Knot Hole
I enjoy coming here for my scrapbooking supplies. They are very comparable in price to some of the larger, chain stores. They have a great selection and are very friendly. Not only do they carry scrapbooking supplies, but a wide variety of other craft supplies as well.
