I've been going to this dive shop for the past seven years. They treat you with professionalism, respect and courtesy. Above all every staff member is extremely friendly and genuinely takes an interest in your well-being while scuba diving. These guys have won me over time after time with thier "bend over backwards" attitude. Mike has serviced my equipment while I have been away and overnighted to my dive location so I don't have to dive with borrowed gear. He lets me test gear before I buy. I am always welcome to jump in the pool if I want to get a quick refresher after the winter season. I can't say enough good things. The prices are slightly higher but not enough for anyone to shy away. The service and the friendly staff combined with the excellent facilities and multiple locations are worth it. Once you get to know Mike and the staff you will come back for sure.
PROS: Excellent service, good attitude, friendly staff, great selection
CONS: Slightly higher than other but well worth it
This place is horrible. The management is never on site. The employees do not know how to speak english. I always get my two black shirts dry cleaned because having them washed fades the dark black and the shirts start to look ugly. So instead I pay over $3 to get each of my black shirts dry cleaned. But what does this place do? They wash them instead. When I confronted them they claimed that they only follow the garment wash directions on the label. Their reasoning is that the manufacturer of the garment knows best the cleaning method and thus states it on the label. Fine, lets say I buy that argument, which still doesn't change the fact that they are charging me for dry cleaning (over $3) but only performing a wash service ($1.25). Isn't there a legal issue here? Businesses like these should not be allowed to stay open.
CONS: Lie, cheat and steal
I've been visiting this Carnett's location for seven years and they have done a pretty good job each time. Though their prices slowly creep up each time I go, they still have a good thing going. From their automated wash systems to their staff and cleaning crew they get you in and out pretty quickly. Occasionally they are packed which is understandable on a bright sunny day. All in all this is a good place to get your car washed.
PROS: Quick, clean and good
CONS: Somewhat pricey
This Starbucks does things right. Well almost all the time. I ask for a fancy and complicated drink and 8 out of 10 times they prepare it almost perfect. This is a clean shop with a friendly staff. They make you feel appreciated and cared for. And on occasion when they prepare the drink slightly off, they are quick to make up for it. Overall a good place to visit.
PROS: Prepare drink with care and detail
CONS: Expensive, just like every other Starbucks :)
The staff and management at this Domino's pizza have an arrogant attitude. They make it clear with their tone and treatment that they do not care about the customer. Their attitiued is "we don't need you." I called the store once fifteen minutes before they closed and the guy said he could not take my order. I informed him that I am a regular customer ordering at least once every week. Furthermore I am less than half a mile away and not to mention it's not closing time yet. He refused to give me his name and did not accept my order. They think they're too good for the world. My suggestion is to respond by spending your money elsewhere.
PROS: Good pizza
CONS: Lack of customer service, arrogant attitude
This Pizza Hut has been through at least six management changes in as many years. I love pizza, especially from Pizza Hut. But unfortunately this location can NEVER get the order right. Time after time I have to contact the manager to let him/her know that they prepared my pizza wrong. Either they forget the toppings I asked for, or they put the wrong toppings, or they forget my drinks when delivering the order or they overcook or undercook the pizza. I've worked at Pizza Hut during my college days and I can tell you it's not that difficult to follow directions on the receipt when the order comes through. The latest excuse the manager gave me was that he has Spanish speaking employees and the language barrier causes confusion and results in mistakes. Hah! So I guess I better pick up on my Spanish if I want food from Pizza Hut.
PROS: Good pizza, if prepared as asked.
CONS: Mistakes in order, never get it right
Best Buy offers their Product Replacement Plan which esentially is an insurance policy for a given number of years. Whenever I buy an expensive item from them I am sure to purchase the extended plan. This is not simply an extension of the manufacturer's warranty. Instead it covers your product against other defects and problems also. Though their prices are not best compared to their competitors, they are quick to offer price matching. Once I get them to give me the same price as their competitor's then it only makes sense to buy from them and purchase the product replacement plan.
PROS: Good selection, friendly staff, excellent product replacement plan
CONS: Poor customer service staff, high prices, lack of selection occasionally
Brinks has been servicing my home for security needs for several years. Recently I finished a basement and had a need to add two more zones. The salesperson stopped by and took care of my order in about 30 minutes. These guys are great - straightforward and honest. He told me I could not get any equipment for free but if I run the wires myself I could get 50% off. That was good enough for me and now my entire home is protected. I can sleep much safer.
PROS: Quick response time, good service, professional and courteous
CONS: Expensive, require contract and charge for service calls
I paid this company top dollar for plumbing work in a basement that was to be finished as an independent living area. Of course this required a bathroom, laundry room and a kitchen. They installed the toilet drain too close to the bathtub and the toilet could not be installed. They installed the shower valve too deep in the wall studs. When the tile work was to be done the shower valve handle could not be secured. The supply lines and drains for the double vanity were mislocated such that when the vanity cabinet was installed the lines had to be relocated. The bedding under the tub was not poured correctly and every time you stepped in the bathtub you could here the fiberglass press down against the bedding. I demanded all this be repaired, especially since they had already receive 80% of the money before the job was started. The other 20% was to be received upon the finish work (plumbing fixtures, etc.). The refused to correct even a single problem. I was left with no choice but to hire another plumber and of course had to pay more money. Being such a large business I would have expected them to take care of a job they claim to be experts at. But with the help of the other plumber and myself I managed to get through this, though it took an extra month. I would never use AllPhase nor recommend anyone else to use their services.
PROS: Professional apprearance, wear shoe covers in the house
CONS: Poorly trained plumbers, lack of service, poor time management
We decided on a new living room sofa from Macy's and put it on hold for a few days. When we went back to the store the salesperson was friendly and completed our transaction. After the papers and receipts were signed we were informed that the sofa we had put on hold was sold and no more were available in the warehouse. In fact it will be two months before the manufacturer will ship more. Needless to say we were disappointed and felt that the salesperson should have informed us of this beforehand. Instead, he started recommending other sofas in a desparate attempt to secure his commission. We really like the sofa we ordered and are anxiously awaiting it's arrival :(
PROS: Good furniture selection, both contemporary and traditional
CONS: A little on the expensive side and long delivery time
