It's hard to find a place to take the family that is simply fun nowadays. Enchanted Forest is set back in the hills near Turner, just off of I-5. It has a fairy-tale theme and it is great fun to watch the kiddos as they register the connections with their favorite stories. The ghost town is interesting and the rides are fun. We plan to go their again at the end of the month as a summer treat. It's definately a place worth checking out.
Fred Meyer is a great one stop shopping location. They have most anything you are looking for. I've enjoyed that their grocery specials often beat most competitors. We absolutely love that they've added a gas station at this location. Often they are the lowest price in town, even when comparing to Costco. Being located just off the freeway makes this a convenient, easy to get to, location for all.
Film is becoming a lost art with the arrival of digital technology. Shutterbug has bridged the gap with top of the line film and digital cameras, accessories and service. They are very involved with the community and offer their film canisters to the local children's museum for their use. As homeschoolers, we've enjoyed using these as well. Shutterbug's digital processing runs only a penny more than Walgreen's and the results are great!
I've been coming to Bible Book House since I was a child. For years, they were the only Bible store in town. Sadly, they have chosen to reduce and eliminate almost all KJV bibles at this location. They have a lot of materials that are great. It's a large store with a lot of stuff. It would be great if the KJV stuff would be brought back though. So many of us have had to turn to the internet to get the version we want now.
So many that are happy to shop at garage sales shudder at the thought of entering into a thrift shop. These stores are not what they once were -- they are much better! The stores are much brighter and cleaner than ever before. Merchandise is more organized and easy to find. For those who like to dive in, the outlet store is a great bargain at 59 pound pricing. Best of all, shopping at Goodwill helps others in our community and adds valuable jobs.
Eoff Electric is a great electrical supplier to have in town. The staff is available to help you with you supplies at a moments notice. They even have the staff outfitted with Nextel, to allow contractors to contact them easily from the job site. Every time I've gone to pick up an on-call item, it was ready when they said it would be. If a part isn't immediately available, they are great about finding one as soon as possible.
We've all had our moments where we neede a rental at a moments notice. Withnell Auto Rental made it easy. Their prices were right in line with the competition. Everytime we've needed to use a rental we always check with them first. The service is great and the flexibility has been wonderful. We've also enjoyed that the vehicles are always clean and ready to go, even when there is a short time between rentals. Great service!
My family has been coming to A C Gilbert's Discovery Village for years now. It is a fun, safe place to let the kids roam and explore (with supervision). They have everything from a dinosaur dig to a shadows room. I love the educational content and the staff is great. Their membership is a great deal because you can use your card for free admittance to OMSI and you get passes to the carousel at River Front Park and other children's museums in the NW.
Costco Wholesale is a great deal for a family the size of mine. We love buying in bulk and often the prices are great. You get sales prices without all the work of couponing and rebating. It is still important to price compare with other local stores. For items like cereal, we have found that WinCo is almost always less, unless Costo is having a BOGO special type of thing. We love "window shopping" at Costco and love the gas prices. They usually beat everyone else in town.
My wife and I have come to this clinic many times. We were forced to by our insurance at the time. The service is terrible. The reception staff is clueless and unwilling to get the information you need. The parking is almost impossible. My wife once timed an important call to them (she had to get through because of some heart medications) and she was on hold for and hour and a half! Unbelieveable. Add to that that the medical staff turnover is ridiculous. They have a new doctor in there everytime we go in. Doesn't create an atmosphere for continuing care.
