Strikes just opened up and I was lucky enough to go there on a Staff Development Trip. I didn't expect the food to be so tasty, but it was delicious! We all had a grand time bowling. The atmosphere is very nice and they have an area specifically for kids to bowl. Come check it out.
If you blink, you'll miss this place. It is located "Up in the cut" on Baring street and it took me a minute to find it when my mom recommended it. Once you find it, the guys are friendly, the prices are good and they do excellent work. My mother takes her van here all of the time. Find it and you won't be dissapointed.
University Of Penn is all that it purports to be in terms of academia. Penn is an excellent school in an excelent atmosphere in an excellent part of the city. I highly recommend this school for Continuing Education. However, I always felt out of place here as if I did not match or belong...but perhaps that was just me...
PROS: Great Academically
I used to frequent this station only because it was right arond the corner from my mother's house. I stopped because there are several gas stations in the area and this is not the cheapest one. Also, I, as a driver who knows nothing about my car, have spent an arm and a leg getting my car fixed here...and one day, I walked to the counter to ask the guy for "$10 on 2" and the attendant was Asleep! Knocked out! I banged on the window and finally got my sister to go wake him up (it was early afternoon) in retrospect that's pretty funny, but it wasn't at the time.
When I go to Franklin Mills, Marshalls is one of my favorite stops. This particular Marshalls is HUGE and has tons of items for GREAT prices. I've found many of shirts for $5 and bought a pair of Nomad sandals (out of season) for $3. I highly recommend this Marshalls
If ever there was a shabby market, this is one. It sits on a corner of 40th & Market...a very busy, very populated corner and once you push past all of the people outside, you go into a store that has not many nutritious items...and it's pretty dirty. If you are just looking for a soda and a bag of chips...sure, go into this "market".
I work right off Lancaster Avenue and have many times walked up "The Avenue" to search for kibbles or items. This Supermarket is very popular in the neigborhood, but it is not very clean and it's tiny and the food is neither the freshest, nor the greatest. Though I've been in this store a few times when I needed to grab something non-perishable, I'd not recommend getting your meats here!
This is an excellent Store. I may be biased because I love Bath & Body Works, but the products are awesome and they have great products that last a LONG time. They also always have a good sale going. The corner they are on can be very, VERY crowded, but once you are in the store, it is simply beautiful.
This Dunkin Donuts is set smack dab in the middle of Univesity of Penn's Campus and up the street from Auntie Anne's, and it is TINY. However, in this miniscule Dunkin Donuts manages to contain all the wonder that is Dunkin Donuts into one small space. Highly recommended if Dunkin Donuts is your thing.
I love this Deb Store. They have plenty of items of clothing that are all very well priced...if not the best quality. I've had a cotton shirt or two shrink in the dryer. However, the clothes are very very cute and they always have the latest styles at really great prices.
