For Magickal, Metaphysical, and Paranormal books and such, there is no better store in Philadelphia than the Garland Of Letters. They have several books on several different topics (Tarot, Astrology, etc.) and also have candles, incense, calendars, stones...many beautiflu things. Frequent this store...and make sure you pet the stone lion on the way in...for good luck!
I really like 12th Street Gym. Iliked it Better when "Sister's In Shape" was there, but now, they have their own gym. 12th Street Gym doesn't necessarily have state-of-the-art equiptment and the upstairs area is like a maze, but overall, it's a good gym.
7 Eleven stores to not really differ for teh most part. The one thing I wish this 7 Eleven had is a larger parking lot. Sometimes there is not enough space in the parking lot and on street parking is next to impossible. Regular 7 Eleven Kibbles here.
October Gallery is the place to go for First Fridays in Philadelphia. The art and atmosphere is great and there is always some great entertainment or poetry reading goign on at October Gallery. If you are in Olde City and want to check out a great Art Gallery, I highly recommend this place.
This Boston Market is okay, but I've not been there in a while. Though the corn bread is delicious and they've added a few items to the menu, the rotissere chicken, though good can be both greasy and salty. If you like Boston Markey however, you'll love this one.
I love to eat at the College Buffet. I've sat in a few times, but mostly, I get them to make me a styrofoam platter to go. The pile it full of yummy Chinese Food plus a drink for $5. You'll love this place, though the food can be a bit greasy.
Thank Goodness for the self serve areas in Kinkos. Sometimes, you can be waiting for a very, very long time to get any service in this Kinkos. Sometimes, there is only one person at the counter and several customers waiting. Each transaction can take up to 10 minutes depending on what needs to be done. Imagine having three people in front of you! Don't go on your lunch break. Quality-wise, they are very good. I can't complain about the product they kick out, only how long you have to wait to put in your order for it.
PROS: Excellent quality copies
CONS: Sometimes long waits for Customer Service
The food here is excellent...a cut above rest. I have eaten here very often (in the days where my money wasn't acting as strangely as it is now!) This is authentic delicious Jamaican Cuisine. In the summer, they open the back where they have musical groups and you can eat your food in the open air. It is truly delicious and set up very nice...the outside at night is great for dates...but bring your pocket book! It's a bit pricey and the fish is always "Market Price"
PROS: Excelent food
CONS: Too expensive
I love Wawa's in general, but they have recently renovated this Wawa (after a terrible flood which had it out of commission for a few weeks) and now it looks great. The Wawa brand substitutes are as good as if not better than their more expensive counterparts. I LOVE Wawa Orange juice and ice cream and many of the other Wawa brand items. Their sandwiches are so very good and they make them just the way you like it. If you are in the neighborhood, come to this Wawa.
I live right around the corner from Good Taste Restaurant. Many chinese fast food restaurants seem to just photo copy their menus...you can order from one the same as you order from the other. The one thing I really like about Good Taste is that they have vegetarian substitutes for some of their most popular dishes. Tasty food.
PROS: Good food
CONS: Greasy food! Kind of shabby inside decor...
