We chose this driving school over the school district because they were very flexable about making up a missed class. In the school district, you can't miss a class, period. You can make up a class here at any of their four locations, and also go over the time period it is alloted for. With summer vacation and sports, this suited us very well.
PROS: flexable good priced
CONS: minimal driving time
The Oregon Zoo just keeps getting better and better. The new exhibts relating to the coastal NW are just fabulous. And the elephant exhibt is one of the best ,if not the best in the world. The down side is the cost. Very spendy for a family on a budget. And parking is not the best. GO EARLY if you don't want to park acres away.
PROS: Wonderful exhibts
CONS: Long walk back to car retracing steps you have already made.
My girls wore clothes almost exclusively from here when they were little. Great place for dresses and such because they wear them for such a short time and they were hardly used. You can bring clothes in on consignment too. Sometimes I would pay nothing for my purchase as I had a nice check waiting from out grown clothes I had brought in. They also take adult clothing but do not have as big of selection. Wonderful place for parents trying to make a dollar go further.
PROS: usually have a great selection of children's clothes
CONS: parking downtown can be a little tricky with little ones
My daughters adore this funky used and vintage clothing shop. Her favorite article of clothing from here is a waiter's coat from a Chinese restaurant ( I think that is what is is!) The owner is very tolerant of her teenage clientel. They have some lovely 50's formal wear in stock right now. Gotta be small though. Didn't those women ever eat?
PROS: friendly owner, eclectic inventory
My daughter's English teacher has the owner of this book store order books for her class and we have always been impressed with his kindness and willingness to help locate a book, even if he does not have it in stock. There is also an expresso stand inside. Nice locally owned business.
PROS: Helpful owner
Gene Kuhnhausen at Kuhnhausen Door has proven himself reliable and reasonably priced several times to me. His business number is a mobile number and sometimes, if he is in the neighborhood he can be there in minutes. We have three garage doors that have been abused over time and never hesitate to call Gene when something goes wrong.
PROS: Fast and reasonably priced
I have taken our sick computer to Mike at Dos de Place computers and have been very satisfied at the service I have recieved. He usually can have it fixed in 24 hours. Service is very personalized. I have great confidence in Mike at Dos de Place.
PROS: Fast Sevice
My dog had dug up and ate a bunch of recently planted flower bulbs and was TERRIBLY ill. I was afraid she was dying. I called my regular vet who told me I could bring her in and leave her and he would work her in. That was not good enough, she was so ill, I did not want to traumatize her any more by leaving her plus I was afraid she would die before they got to her. Franticly started calling other vets and Dr. Cleveland, realizing the urgency of the situation agreed to see her immediately. She has recovered under his care and now he is our regular vet. I recommend him highly.
PROS: Great service
If you need a reasonably priced CPA in the Vancouver WA area, consider contacting Shawn Hermens at Hermens and Associates. Shawn is smart, fast and funny to boot. Extremely efficient and up on all the latest tax laws. Her office is located on the southside of the large Fred Meyer complex in the Salmon Creek area if Vancouver Wa, Just off I-5. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.
PROS: price, service
In this age of impersonalism, Miracle Cleaners in Hazel Dell is a breath of fresh air. Owner Sean not only remembers your name, but also how much starch your husband like in his shirts. Nice people, good, fast service, highly recommended. Located in JM Plaza btween Safeway and Ross. Easy parking.
PROS: freindly fast service
