OTB offers the typical chinese buffet menu in addition to a mongolian grill and sushi bar. Prices are slightly steeper than some of the other local Chinese buffets, but the quality of food is excellent.
Dining and service areas are well kept and food is fresh. Whether you're looking for seafood, poultry, or vegetarian dishes, OTB offers a little of everything.
OTB has a friendly staff and is located in a shopping plaza with ample parking. It's a great stop during or after a day of shopping in the Moorestown/Cherry Hill areas.
PROS: fresh food, wide menu
I had driven by Tom Jones Family restaurant for almost a year, before I finally decided to give it a try. Every time I drove by, there'd be a line out the door for seating. However, to my disappointment, the vast menu selection and constant flow of business did not correspond to great food and worthwhile costs. TJ's offers several dinner plates, sandwiches, breakfast plates, but all appear to have mediocre taste and portions when compared to other diners in the Delaware County area. They did offer several flavors of homemade ice cream for dessert.
In addition, the restaurant has the bright orange vinyl booths that bring you back to the 70s. The atmosphere is cheery, but poorly ventilated. Prices were reasonable, but I've gotten more for my money elsewhere.
If you're looking for quick service, TJ's isn't the place for it. Staffing seems spread thin during their busy dinner and lunch rushes.
PROS: open 24/7, convenient location
CONS: mediocre service/quality of food
This fast growing ice cream franchise has some of the best ice cream around. Fixings are hand rolled into ice cream (made on site). Although a little pricey, it's well worth it. Sizes range from Like It, Love It, to Gotta Have It. All servings are available in fresh waffle cones/bowls and chocolate dipped waffle cones/bowls.
For chocolate lovers, try Germanchocolatekake! If you like white chocolate and coconut, try Paradise Found.
No matter what flavor you choose, even if you custom mix one of your own, you won't be disappointed!
Ample parking is available in the shopping plaza parking lot for this Cold Stone Creamery, but be advised the line can get very long on a hot summer's day!
PROS: Great flavors for ice cream lovers
CONS: a tad pricey
Are you a bubble tea addict? If so, this little franchise at the 88 Supermarket's International Food Court in Allston is the place to be! Lollicup serves all kinds of milk teas, shakes, and slush beverages. Both large and mini boba (tapioca pearls) are available with any beverage. Prices are reasonable and all drinks are individually prepared and shrinkwrapped once mixed. Great on the go and to-go for another time! If you are an avid fan of sweet melon flavors, I recommend the honeydew milk tea.
There is ample parking at the supermarket as well on the streets. The 88 Supermarket is located in Packard's Corner just a block away from the Shaw's on Brighton Ave.
PROS: tons of flavors to choose from, frequent customer club cards
CONS: too many flavors to choose from
Located across from West Chester University, Burrito Loco definitely serves a full plate. Averaging about $6-$7 a burrito plate, you get a PACKED burrito (that measures almost 3" in diameter and 8" in length!) in addition to traditional nachos. It is definitely worth getting some extra of their homemade guacomole!
Burrito Loco has a few tables inside and on the patio out front. Parking can be a hassle however, as the street/metered parking is generally full during school/business hours. One's best bet is to park at the auditorium parking lot a few blocks away.
PROS: super burritos!
CONS: parking can be tough
The Empire Buffet in South Philadelphia (formerly a old country buffet) is the best Chinese/Seafood buffet I've come across in some time! Because of the small buffet counters and the constant flow of customers dining in, the food is always hot and fresh! They serve your typical Chinese Buffet appetizers and entrees, in addition to Ginger & Scallion crabs, stir fried mussels in black bean sauce, assorted steamed fish, salt & pepper shrimp/squid, seafood delight, and even sushi! Don't forget the raw bar full of clams and oysters for shucking! At under $10 per person for dinner (which includes beverages), this buffet is by far the best valued that I've ever visited.
Be sure to save up an appetite before going to get your money's worth! There is ample parking, and the business is open to 10pm during the week and later on the weekends!
PROS: cheap seafood! how can you wrong with that?
CONS: none that I've come across
The Penrose Diner in South Philadelphia is a great 24/7 diner for people looking to get the most for their money. They offer a wide selection in their menu including dinner specials, sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizer combos, breakfast, and dessert! The service is friendly and quick. And the quality of the food is excellent, as are the portions. You can never go wrong for a cheap eat going to the Penrose.
The facilities are clean. Table & counter service is available. They accept cash and your major credit cards.
Parking can be tough during their evening rush, but there is ample street parking in addition to their parking lot.
PROS: Economical & bountiful
CONS: none that I've come across
