Prudential's properties are a great place to start when looking for a rental in Indiana! They have numerous locations including the one with which I have personal experience - Penn State Towers. There is onsite 24/hour maintenance. The office is very reasonable with making appointments to tour new properties, understanding with late payments etc. Very reasonable rent for "close to campus" living!
Dave Parkinson has done many repairs for our family over the years and we consistently come back because of his great quality of work and fast service. When an emergency flood happens in the basement, it's great to know that he'll do his best to be there as soon as possible. His work is always top notch, and never does any unnecessary work to charge more. A great plumbing choice!
World of Values is a collection of closeout products and "dollar store" items. They do have very inexpensive prices for items that could be found at much higher prices elsewhere. My favorites are their Holiday Decorations, Floral Products, and Candles. They also have a very large variety of wicker baskets and furniture. Service is usually a good experience and customers rarely wait in line. Personally I prefered their previous location, but do frequently shop here.
I really enjoyed visiting Balloons of Indiana (joint with The Flower Gallery). Employees are very friendly and helpful in explaining pricing and products. The store is wonderful with lots of gift items available for purchase. The downside to this bussiness is the price involved. One could easily get balloons at approximately half the price by going with other businesses. I was told that their balloons are of much better quality and last longer, but when on a budget, this wasn't the best option for my needs. But again, very friendly and beautiful store overall.
Indiana's Costume Shop is one of the best I've ever seen! Although it's smaller than some in Pittsburgh, their rental costumes are always of great quality. There are so many that I'm sure anyone could find one to fit their needs. Sources say most are even hand made! They also carry a wide variety of costumes to purchase as well as stage makeup and props.
This theater is home to many spectacular productions as well as the world-renowned Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. The theater was built in 1971 and seats about 2,500 people - one of the largest in Pittsburgh! The ceiling is one of my favorite things, incredibly beautiful and intricate. Ticket prices are about what you'd expect, but the quality of shows is ALWAYS above average. Great place to see a show!
Dancers Dream will make any future ballerina feel right at home. With a wide selection of costumes, leotards, shoes and gifts, this store will meet all of your needs. The store itself is even gorgeous reminiscent of a dance studio with wooden floors and mirrored walls. They also carry a limited selection of cheerleading wear. Likely to be only place in area to carry these necessary products.
We recently looked at cars at Hornick Auto Sales and were satisfied with the experience overall. Nothing particularly impressed us - prices were blue book, service was just as expected (answered questions, gave details about cars), and selection was pretty minimal. I'd estimate maybe 20 cars total. Certainly a fine place to purchase a used car, not particularly remarkable though.
Every service I've ever attended at Strifflers has been beautiful and employees have a way of comforting mourners just by their presence. Buildings are well maintained and give a peaceful sense. Also, directors are always willing to work with families regarding special requests for their loved ones. Under the circumstances, a quality choice.
I truly would only go to UPMC McKeesport if I was in a life threatening situation and needed treatment. Dr.s are NOT what they should be as far as medicine or personality. I've waited 5 hours to be seen for a wound that needed stitches because it'd temporarily sealed shut and "didn't look so bad." By the time I was seen, I was told that the skin wouldn't heal back even with stitches because I'd "waited so long." The waiting room is not clean which automatically forms my opinion about this place. Obviously there must be some standard of reliable care being that they're a UPMC hospital - just certainly leaves much to be desired...
