At Prompt Care you can see one secific doctor or whoever is available to see you. They take walk ins all the time and can ussually fit you in to see a doctor when you need to. They also have physical therapists, orthopedics, sparts medicine, ect. specialists that work at the clinic one a week. All your medical needs in one!
Also, there is a huntington beach location that I havnt been to.
Buffalo Exchange allows you to find cool, used clothes that are cheaper than they would otherwise be which is great. The downside to the store is that you could have found just as awesome of clothes at a thrift store for a fraction of the price. This location is good for clothes, okay for shoes, but terrible for accesries. Don't get suckered into paying way too much for pink tights when you came in for some cheap wears.
I never became a member of the gym because the sales staff were relentless and annoying. After taking a tour and discussing our needs with the sales man a bit we said we'd call back after looking at some other places. They continues to call for the next week or so until we finally told them i had joined a different gym. The sales people are terribly pushy and turned me off to this place entirely.
Quick, fresh, tasty bagels!!! I love their chocolate chip and strawberry cream cheese. They have breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches--which you can also get on bread. To drink they have snapple, milk, juices, soda, and coffee/coffee drinks. They sell small tubs of lox and cream cheese as well as day old bagels. I can be sure if they still do but they used to sell you 12 bagels for the price of 6 during their last open hour. Sweet deal. The only downside to the place is that right before closing the employees can be very testy-but I havnt had any big problems during the normal work day.
This is the kinda coffee shop you want to be at if you are at all interested in art or at least into ideas. There is no reason to read about postmodernism in starbucks.
Their pizza is great with thick, doughy crust and fresh tomatos come standard on every pie. Go here for the beer, pizza, salad, and pazzokies--the pasta is only so-so. Slow during the day but things pick up nights and weekends. There is another location in huntington beach that may be a little more festive at times.
Amazing Crepes! I Love to eat here when I need food that looks pretty and tastes great. They recently moved to a new location within a few blocks of the old--they are next to Bono's I believe. Prices have gone up a bit recently but their sweet and savory crepes are fabulous-- not to mention their cafe drinks.
I went to Wilson High School because it was close to my house. The administrators arevery unpleasent and the strict enforcement of uniforms didnt make it any easier to avoid contact with school officials. Distinguished Scholars is a good enough program, but if you want to be challenged don't let it fool you--Poly is where it's at. If you work hard, develop a think skin, and get creative with your extra curriculars you can make it work for you.
They have a lot of variety so if you are into sewing, beading, paper crafts, painting, floral arrangements, or even cake decorating you can get supplies here. This is one of the larger Michaels in the area and I love that the departments all offer just a little more selection. When they have sales its a good time to stop by--you may end up spending more on your DIY projects than you wanted if you dont check around a bit.
PROS: location, larger departments, good sales
CONS: some items are pricey
Frog's is a good blend of hard bodies pumping iron and seniors walking on treadmils--just enough to keep you motivated without being embarassed. They have great cardio machines (Nordic Track, stairmaster, eliptical, rowing machines, bikes, and treadmills). The machines have individual, built-in TV's and CD players--I just love them. They also have resistence machines, free weights, etc. I havn't ever taken a class but they seem to be popular and are offered at reasonable times. The sign up is EASY and they don't hassle you like some of the bigger places do. There are a fair number of CSULB students but they are not the majority of gym goers as far as I can tell.
PROS: Great cardio machines, convenient , mixed fitness levels and age,
CONS: no sauna, locker rooms are sparce, close at 8 on sunday, some crowding
