Bailey's Towing Inc
Bailey's Towing is owned by Thadd Bailey, a great guy who really goes out of his way to help you. Bailey's Towing has very reasonable rates and they are very responsive. No need to wait hours for your tow truck to show up. Call Bailey's and they'll be there within fifteen minutes (approximately). Very efficient and dependable. Highly recommended.
The Garden Gate
The Garden Gate is a unique gift shop that sells many different items...stationery, teas, pens, books, souvenirs, fruit baskets, frames, antiques, etc. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, try The Garden Gate.
Jellybeans Super Skate Ctr
Jellybeans has two locations--one in Cary (off Buck Jones Road) and the other in Raleigh (near the new Wakefield development). They offer after-school skate programs for kids, birthday parties, and you can even rent the skate location for a special event. Prices are reasonable, and there are lots of concessions for sale (popcorn, candy, chips and nachos, soft drinks, etc.). There's a game room (arcade) and booths to sit and take a break from skating. Good experience for kids and parents alike.
Wakefield Lighting
Wake Forest Lighting offers a wide variety of unique and one-of-a kind, elegant lighting. When you walk in the front entrance, lights and chandeliers are everywhere. It's really fascinating to walk around and have a look at some of the light fixtures. They have everything from super-elegant chandeliers to bathroom vanity lights to halogen lamps. If they don't have what you're looking for, they'll order it for you. Recommended.
A Round Again Consignments
Around Again Consignments is one of the best places to consign your used clothing that you no longer want (or no longer wear)! The store sets the prices and you earn a 50% commission on all of your clothing items that sell. They offer a HUGE selection of formal gowns (prom dresses, bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, formal dresses, etc.). One of the BEST places to purchase a formal gown or prom dress inexpensively.
Black Belt World
Black Belt World was established in 1986 as the first Korean Maritial Arts School in Raleigh, N.C. The school has expanded into Wake Forest, and now has two locations--one in Raleigh off Millbrook Road, and the other in Wake Forest off Wake Union Church Road. The school is very friendly and non-threatening for new beginners. They offer classes for all ages and it generally takes about three years to earn a black belt. Black Belt World offers family rates, a summer camp for kids, a track-out program (for kids who attend year-round schools), and an after-school care program with transportation. Definitely recommended. The staff is helpful and very good.
Quilts Like Crazy & Knit Too
Quilts like Crazy is owned by Nancy Pease, and Nancy and her three daughters run the store. Quilts like Crazy offers quilting classes, lots of quilting supplies, and a large selection of quilts that can be purchased. The quilts inside the store are beautiful and truly unique pieces of artwork. Definitely recommended.
Kidz Kutz
Kid Kutz is 100% focused on kids. When you walk in, they have tons of photos of other kids who have just had their hair cut posted on the walls. You child gets to sit in a chair that looks like an amusement park ride (or one of those rides at the mall). For example, your child can choose to sit in a red sports car, a dinosaur, a fish, a spaceship, etc. The haircutters are very good with kids and they are especially good at getting your child to SIT STILL for the haircut (that's the hardest part with kids!). Prices are certainly reasonable. It's a good experience, and definitely recommended.
Wake Tire & Svc Ctr
Wake Tire is an extremely honest and reliable service center. My family has used them for years. Russ and Worley are friendly and really go out of their way to help you out. They have diagnosed problems free of charge, and have given me some great deals over the years. The inside of the building is not very clean (could definitely be improved in the cleanliness department!) ; however, the service and honesty is first-rate. You do not have to worry about being ripped off. It won't happen here. They're a family-owned tire and service center and I definitely recommend them.
Millbrook Exchange Dog Park
Millbrook Exchange Park is a wonderful place for dogs to run around without leashes. Plus, it's a great place to meet other dog owners. The enclosed area is an "off-lease" dog park covered with wood chip mulch. Lights come on around dusk and remain on until 10:00 p.m. for safety and security. If you have a small or elderly dog, you can separate him/her from the larger dogs by using the "Small Dog Park" area. There is a double-entry gate system to separate the "Small Dog Park" from the "Large Dog Park." Female dogs in heat are not permitted to use the dog park (because it might lead to fights/territorial agression between the male dogs). There are several other rules that the park has (your dog must have a rabies shot, no spike collars, dogs are not allowed to dig holes in the ground, etc.). These rules are posted at the entrance to the park. Definitely recommended.
