The most convient thing about Blanchard is that all you ahve to do to get started is post parts of your resume online for them. teh will want you to eventually come out and fill out an application, but had already started helping me find employments by the time I filled out an application. This is a local company and they have an "In" it seems with some of the smaller businesses.
The location, right off of Prince Avenue, is convienet to downtown and they have thier own parking lot (No meters to pay). They stylists are super nice and really good at what they do. When I got a "cheap Haircut" that was horrible, they were able to fix me right up. I am now a regular cutsomer and I Love that I can usually get an appointment the same day I call, but they are growing so I do not know how long that they will be able to do that.
Thomas Orchards is the place to go for Fresh fruits and veggies most of the year. They are closed during the winter (from about 2 weeks before Christmas until sometime around spring break) They carry what is in season and specialize in regional items.
They also have yummy pickled veggetables that you can purchase in addition to local honey.
When in season, Thomas orchards carries Plants and flowers. You can also find cute gifts for a garden lover on your list.
Plenty of parking and easy to find at the end of the bypass.
This bookstore is located right off of main street. I usually find parking easily, but like most downtowns, parking is sometimes tight. The staff is super helpful and very nice. You can bring your gently used books for a monetary value or trade. Very similar to CD exchange stores you find around.
They have a good selection of both used and new books. This store is great if you do not want to have to drive all the way to athens to find a book!!
If you are looking to plant fields for wildlife or just spruce up your lawn and garden, Everything you need is right here. Athens seed always carries grass seed and hay to care for your lawn, they have pine straw for flower beds and even a huge selection of flowers and plants in season.
I have picked up unique bird feeders and hummingbird feeder (as well as food) here. In addition, you can find a nice pot for all the new plants you will purchase.
Though we rarely use the livestock food, they carry many kinds of hay and other feed supplies. They are really a full service place.
Most of all, everyone is super helpful from the moment you walk into the door. you will bee able to find it easily coming from watkinsville. look for the big green awning.
Almost immediately upon visiting Dr. Hammonds, the staff and Dr. Hammonds himslef really tried to get to know me. They paid attention to what I had to say and were very careful.
The office is very clean and I repeatedly saw them wiping equipment.
They are easy to find, Just past the elementary school, have adequate parking that they share with a dentist office.
They did forget to call me when my glasses were ready but the delay was still not that long. I am VERY pleased with my glasses and I can see better than ever!
After visiting a another dentist in the area and being very unsatisfied with the first guy, we tried Dr. Mobley (Has an office with Dr. Chambers). We were much happier here. Dr. Mobley and his staff listened to our issues and they were very careful with my husbnad's teeth as they are highly sensitive. They also suggested cheaper and easier ways to correct our dental problems without breaking our pocketbooks .
In addition to cleanings, Dr. Mobley has also filled a cavity for my husband and he was very impressed with the service (He also jokes that he really liked the gas they used to numb him!)
If you are having a party and want some fun - just call and they will set it up for you. they have moonwalks and slides etc but they also supply snow cone machines, clowns, etc. YOu get the picture. All you have to do is call - they will put a great party together for you.
They bring everything out and set it up and also take everything down when the party is done. There is no hassel for you. Also, the equipment they have is relatively new or they replace it frequently because it does not have the ground in yuck stuff etc from snotty younginsjumping on it for the past 5 years!!
The atlanta Opera get better and better all the time, especially since the move to the civic center. They have greats show and anyone can afford a ticket with the cheapest being around 20$ (Student discounts as well). They are very professional and want you to have a great time and enjoy yourself but also learn something - they hold pre performance lectures at every show (Optional but great!). Also - arrive ON TIME! The show must go on, with or without you!
Parking is about 5-10$ in various lots around the civic center but the marta station is only 2-3 blocks away - Tkae marta is my suggestion!
I always try to keep up when a new show is comeing out(usually every few months). They are all hillarious even though it is "murder mystery" (think the movie CLUE). You get a 5 course meal and the play for around 50 bucks (a little cheaper during the week).
The best part is that they will pull you into the action, litterally. Both my husband and I have been pulled away to participate before.
They also do group parties. (They have neat brochers if you are thinking of going that route.)
