Brookhaven Cleaners and Laundry is located in a strip mall, like many of the other cleaners. They are easy to find, right off of peachtree, and there is usually a parking space very very close although the cleaners shares parking with a few other businesses.
They provide fast service are a professional. They have cleaned everything from uniforms, dresses and pants suits for me. I have had only simple stains on clothes I have sent but find them to be very capable of getting out stains.
Brookhaven Christian Child Development Center is located right off of Peachtree Street, Next to Oglethorpe University. They are easy to find and have ample parking in the church parking lot. The center is affiliated with and shares a building with Brookhaven Christian Church.
They have done some expansion in the last few years and have a pretty nice space. Still, like other centers that are affiliated with churches, shares their space with Sunday School classes and other church programs.
They have security and a gated playground. The staff is super nice and they are reasonably priced.
If you are one of those people who do not schedule or plan haircuts in advance but ratehr just decide "it is time" Then this is the place for you. This fabulous salon takes walk-ins for most of their services. Do not be fooled. however, this is not a "great clips or cost cutter" type of store. The stylists are super and they can suggest a really nice cut as well if you know "it is time" but do not know what you want. I have never left unsatisfied. They also have great salon products at reasonable prices.
The price of the haircut is also well worth the money
Besides being on busy busy Roswell Rd, this Barber shop is ssuper. They have ample parking and are not hard to fine (Just do not try to go at 5 on a friday afternoon! SO much traffic) Other than that - they are super nice, my husband and son have both gotten thier hair cut here and love it. My son is not scared at all here whereas at other places he has been scared to get up in the chair.
Not only does Herb shop by the Square have everything under the sun (or at least all of the herbs and remmedies I am familiar with) They also really know what the product is supposed to do. In other stores I have gone to, they either have no clue what is best for sleep, energy, the flu, etc, or they have to look it up. The salesperson I dealt with was super knowledgeable and able to recommend products that really worked for me! This store is great - although a little out of my way since I do not live in Marietta.
Phipps Alterations is very easy to get to and there is ample parking for the mall. For a small button or hem, it may be better for you to go to a strip mall close to home, but If you have big orders, I suggest going here. Not only is everyone super nice, but they also do a great job. They have taken in a number of dresses and suits for me (down about 3 sizes) They were all perfect and they kept me informed of any problems (Ie - it was going to take them one day longer) They are great! Highly recommend
Tall Tales is one of my son's favorite bookstores. He loves the children's section and so do I. The best part is that the staff actually knows the books when I try to describe them. remembered a story I read when I was little and the only words I could remember were that this man and his machine built stuff "neat and square". Most bookstores (Think big chain stores) just looked up "neat and square and of course nothing came up. One of the girls who was working in the kids section of Tall tales, however said she was not certain but she thought the story was Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel. They were able to find the book and now it is one of my son's favorites.
The biggest difference I see between them and the larger stores is summed up by this example. They really know thier merchandise and are more than willing to help.
For the adults - they do carry all the new books and have a good selection - our main draw, however, is the kids section!
Balloons and events over atlanta is a little high, but certainly not unreasonable, especially when you consider the good job they do. They created some balloon center pieces for a babyshower (had the little hot air balloons) They were precious. They also do those huge balloon sculptures and kids parties though I cannot vouch for that service. Super nice to work with and they deliver.
This bookstore is traditionally affiliated with the Methodist church but they really have a ton of Christian items. They have books, music and curriclums galore. In addition, they have the traditional church supplies. Pretty large store and the staff is super nice
Zumpano has tons of different types of tiles and colors. It is a real.ly nice store to browse around in. The salespeople could be slightly more helpful but are really nice - they pretty much leave you alone - you will have to ask if you want help though they always greet you when you walk in (sometimes can be a releif from people who smother you!) tehy also cut tiles for you if you have your own and are installing your own.
