Identified Flying Objects
An all around fun store. Reminds me of a cross between Spencers and Natural Wonders. We buy presents for the grandkids (boys) here where you can find everything from model kits, kites, planes, and more. They also have hippy gear but the best part is the customer service. The staff really likes where they work and you can tell. Every trip we find them tinkering with setups and displays that are all too fun to watch.
Paris On Ponce
A trip to Paris is like a treasure hunt. The store is filled with tons of antiques along with plenty of odds & ins at reasonable prices. Last time I was there I found the nicest vintage tables for my son's new apartment and a few paintings. Don't be shy about
bargaining at this store; I think the owner expects it.
Jolie Day Spa
This place is a joke. Not only is it cold and sterile but the treatments are subpar. The facial I was given was over and done in lightening time and the girl was rough. When I left my skin was red in spots and I was mortified. I had to make an appointment at the dermatologist to make sure I wasn't having a reaction to the products they use. Fortunately, I was not, it was only minor irritation due to her lack of gentle care. Save your skin the grief and skip this place.
Embassy Suites Atlanta - Buckhead
We booked a room a month in advance to attend out nephew's graduation and stay in the city. When we arrived we were told the hotel was overbooked and could not give us a room. We directed to a hotel which was 15 minutes away and made to take a cab which we were not reimbursed for. All this after we had paid in advance and received confirmation a month prior. I would not recommend this place because of this situation. I have heard the rooms are lovely but with the practice of overbooking it's seems like it is luck of the draw to enjoy one.
World Of Coca Cola
This is always fun for the kids although I do not recommend this place for adults. It's basically a barrage of coca-cola commercials with a historical tour thrown in for good measure. The best part is the end when you get samples and all you can drink coke. One plus for adults would be the gift store which is jam packed with collectibles and goodies - perfect for any collectors out there.
Residence Inn
The rooms at the Residence are large, clean, and very upscale. During our visit we found the staff to be very nice and the free breakfast was great. Our son enjoyed the pool table in the lounge and we liked the location. Only minutes from the MARTA station and right across the street from the High Museum of Art.
Lexington Chocolatier
This place has the best sweets imaginable. Do not go if you are watching what you eat because you'll slip for sure. Try the ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone and you won't regret it or buy chocolates for the ones you love. This shop will make anything you ask so last year I had them whip up a box of "buckeyes" for my family. My kids are still asking for more; they were fantastic.
Sevananda Natural Foods
Sevananda is a market full of organic and natural foods. It also happens to be in the middle of L5P and is a huge consumer owned cooperative which has been around for over 25 years. If you go definitely try the food from the kitchen. They serve the best salads. Another great thing about this place is that they hold regular cooking classes which have helped my daughter adjust to her new Vegan lifestyle.
Return To Eden
Return to Eden is a large grocery store dedicated to healthy foods. When my daughter became a Vegan this became one of the few shops she now trusts. The selection is great and the store has a touch screen kiosk where you can find dietary help and answers to many nutritional questions.
Godiva Chocolatier
If you like Belgian chocolates you must stop at this Godiva shop. Definitely try the Chocolixir it is the most tasty frozen drink you'll ever have. The staff at this store don't seem to mind when you ask to try before you buy and I would suggest asking to sample the sweets before buying any large quantities. Godiva tends to be a bit pricey and when you pick the perfect confections it is well worth every cent but I know from experience that their dark chocolate is not too my liking. Unfortunately, I found it a tad bitter and only after I spent $70 on over 2lbs.
