Twelve
My husband bought me a bouqet from Twelve and they were the most beautiful arrangement I have ever received (in 22 yrs of marriage). They were also the longest living flowers I've had. After that I knew I had to check this place out and I was floored to find such unique items under one roof. They carry everything from jewlery to purses and even artwork. I picked up a beautiful broach for my daughter and I will be back. At this shop there is much to appreciate and buy lol.
Alexis' Suitcase
Recently opened I've been to this shop 4 times already.Nicely set up and packed with brand name clothes in excellent condition. My daughter and I spent under $100 there last time and we each left with 3 outfits each. This place is a gem!
Sidewalk Studio Of Virginia Highland
Sidewalk is known for showcasing local artists and their pieces. I love shopping here because I know I am buying from my local community. This is also a great place to find unique gift items and lovely sculptures and paintings for my home.
Squash Blossom
This is one of my favorite places to shop. Almost everything in the store is made of natural fibers and this helps for someone allergy prone like myself. You will not find itchy, frumpy clothes here, but instead beautiful, quality made pieces at low cost.
Plaza Theatre
The plaza is a very old theater with very few ammenities. Last time my husband and I were there we couldn't even find street parking and no, they do not have a parking lot. With only 2 movies being shown at a time and older films at that this isn't the greatest place. Definately not a family movie theater.
Charis Books & More
My daughter and I recently stopped at Charis's for a book she needed for a Women in Sci course she is taking. Not only does this store have every book imaginable but many you will not find at any other book store. There is a huge library of books on culture, women, subcultures, and more. The staff is ultra friendly and very helpful. Highly Recommended!
Wish
My son loves this store because it is one of the few places he can find hip, urban clothing for reasonable prices. They always have a large selection of Triple 5 Soul, Diesel, etc. And each time we visit the staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the loud hiphop music that is always playing - guess I'm just too old lol
Bob Steele Salon
This is the only salon I trust with my nails. Every time I go my hands are pampered and I leave with the best looking nails in town. I have never had my hair cut here because I love my own stylist too much to cheat on her lol but the cuts I've seen at this place are quite nice. But for now I'll stick with manicures!
Chameleon Cosmetics
Chameleon has been a life saver! Not only did Pandora spend over an hour with me showing me how to apply the makeup correctly but she mixed and matched until she found the perfect color for my skin type. I look fabulous and I owe it all to her!
Thread Zeppelin
Thread Zeppelin is my daughter's favorite thrift store and mine too. She loves it for the retro tees and jeans but I love the place because the prices are great. While most thrift stores mark up vintage items to resell to our youth TZ does not. The help is always friendly and if you let them know what it is you're looking for they will find it or something very similar.
