Eventhough my first game here was about 12 years ago, it's still just as entertaining as it was then. If you're a "big kid," it may seem a little easy or even cheasy at times, but it's a great date place. If you're older, choose the hardest course; it is definitely challenging!
Ikon takes care of their workers very well (wages, insurance, vacation time, etc.) so they usually attract the ones that are willing to work hard. They are fantastic with all the jobs they receieve, and many of the locations even offer to hire out their workers to companies that do a lot of copying.
I took my down comforter to Campus Cleaners, and was definitely happy with the way it came out. However, they know they can charge a lot because they are surrounded by lazy students (like myself) who will choose location convenience over cheaper prices.
As funny as the name sounds, this is actually a great place to go to get your car or van washed. After a long spring break trip that involved offroading in a 15 passanger van, I needed to find a place that could do some serious washing. I was only there for 20 to 30 minutes, and the tires were even spotless when I left!
If you've ever walked down Newbury street, you must have seen Priscilla of Boston. Just looking into their windows should explain why their dresses are the most chic, and most cher in most of the greater boston area. They are nothing if not gorgeous, and definitely worth a trip inside. Go in expecting prices though that aren't friendly for those of us who count our pennies!
I can't think of a store I enjoy more than Jessica McClintock, espeically when I'm in the mood to feel like a princess. The helpful sales associates will find anything you need, down to the shoes and stockings; they are also very eager for you to try things on, even if you say you are just looking. Every prom dress or formal dress I have ever gotten has been at this store. This designer has found a niche that can work for anyone: Classic, and flattering for all....dresses that will never be out of style.
For truffles, there is no other place to shop than Lindt. Their peanut butter milk chocolate truffles are to die for. And though they seem expensive at first, they always have the holiday versions of their chocolates on sale.
I attend a different university, so this is a perspective from another part of boston. I hear nothing but great things from the people who attend NU. Though their hockey team is not as good as BU's, their 5 year program far exceeds its title. It is a great opportunity for those who cant wait to be trained for the real working world!
I love Filene's for the prices. They have a system of discounting items that really seems to work well keeping in mind the overwhelming amount of stock that moves through their store. My only complaint is the atmostphere. The basement always looks dank, and ther clothes are sometimes in bins that you have to rifle through.
The guitar center is just great. Their staff all look like ex-musicians from the 70's and 80's, sprinkled with a few from this generation. They definitely know what they're talking about though, and they can pretty much find the guitar that's best for you.
