This little restaurant is a long-time institution in Denton and for UNT students. They make excellent sandwiches and are not that expensive, which is important to students. A wide variety of subs makes this a great place to go.
PROS: Great sandwiches
CONS: It's in Denton (too far from home)
This nice, small liquor store has been in Highland Village a long time. In the past few years, a larger liquor store moved in right next door. I continue to go to CBS as my vote for the small business vs. large chain. CBS has what I need and the prices are the same or better than the larger chain store.
PROS: Small business
CONS: they may not have everything you want.
This country club doesn't have the shine and glitter that some of the newer clubs have, but it is an excellent club for families. With 3 golf courses, over 30 tennis courts and five swimming pools, there is something for everyone. The dining facilities are first rate. The golf courses range from the easy to the difficult. Great for beginners or low handicappers. Plus, you are not limited to playing only one course as you are at many other clubs.
PROS: Great for families
CONS: Not new and glitzy
This Edwin Watts is good because it has an in-store clearance center with a good selection of clubs and merchandise at good prices. With golf equipment being so expensive, it is nice to have an option for new equipment. They have a net to hit into and a knowledgeable staff to help you find what you need.
PROS: Equipment selection
CONS: Like all golf stores, price
Moni's is one of those places where you can go and almost feel at home. The staff is friendly and it seems like they know half of the customers at any given time. It is BYOB and the Italian food is really good. It's not fancy, but for a relaxing evening out with friends, it is a great place to eat.
PROS: Atmosphere, food
CONS: Not fancy
This mexican restaurant is awesome. They have the best mexican food and even better margaritas. But be careful, if you are any type of lightweight, even one margarita will make your head spin. But, they taste so good, you can't stop slurping. The only negative I can find is that it is a small restaurant and can have a long wait at dinner time. But, if you have the time, it is worth it.
PROS: Great food, better margs
CONS: Wait to get in
This cigar shop has everything. A great variety of cigars and a helpful staff to make sure you get the right cigar for your taste. Plenty of accessories and if you ask nicely, they have a lounge in which you can relax while you smoke your stogie.
PROS: Wide variety, knowledgeable staff
I have had many signs made at this FastSigns and the quality has been good and the service helpful. They present options to help make your sign the best it can be. The product is produced on-time.
PROS: Variety of options
CONS: A little pricey
Al's is an institution. Al works in the restaurant and is there everyday helping the staff. The staff is friendly. The food is awesome. Not much on style (burgers and fries are served in paper bags, but, man, are they good!!! They do have healthy alternatives, but if you want a great, greasy burger and excellent fries/tots, this is the place to go.
PROS: Awesome food, friendly atmosphere
This Wendy's has the fastest drive thru I have ever been in. By the time you get to the window, your food is ready to go. The food is always hot and the service is friendly, even if you don't get to talk to them much, because they are busy fixing the next order. If you ever need a quick bite to go, this is the place.
PROS: World's fastest drive thru
CONS: No more $.99 menu
