Since Nerdbooks opened it doors my wallet has been empty. They offer quite a number of computer books for any professional at a great price. You can check out the book in person in Richardson near the Telecom Corridor or you can even check it out online. They are definately a must visit if you are searching for computer books for work or for college courses. However fair warning- if you see a book you want you had better grab it. There is always another person right behind that might take it and you won't be able to find it again for this price.
PROS: Great Price, Great selection
CONS: Only technical or computer books (if that's considered a con)
We had taken our Taurus here to have work done on it several times only to have to take it to the dealer anyway. It was a lot of money thrown down the drain. I hope in the time that has passed they have gotten better but I will not take it to this particular branch again. The attendants were not friendly and I felt pressured while in the establishment.
CONS: Cost is too high, unfriendly
We attended the Rockwall Pet Shots day at this clinic earlier this year and I have to say that when we arrived I wondered at the organization of the place because of all the animals and their owners were being sent around to the side of the business and just waiting their turn. However I have to say the staff and the vet were completely organized and ready for the crowd. He was very friendly with the animals, even with ones as skiddish our dog and he was very friendly and helpful. His staff made a big difference with the animals, petting them and putting them at ease. It only took a few minutes. I would definitely take my dog to them.
PROS: Friendly with people and animals alike
CONS: Hard to get out of the parking lot
Mr. Michael Zerbach is a very friendly landscaper. He has worked with numerous high dollar companies in the Dallas area on their landscape packages for shopping centers as well as working on home landscapes. He is very friendly and personable and will take the time to find out exactly what type of plant is needed. If he is working on your landscape take the time and ask him how the vineyard is doing.
PROS: Friendly, Outgoing, Professional
CONS: Lives in Lipan
I went to Dr. Gillean in Dr. Tom Sudela's practice in Rowlett after I became pregnant with my third child. She was really great at helping me make sure I didn't gain a lot of weight with this child, as I was already a bit overweight to begin with. They were very careful at monitoring my blood pressure and making sure I didn't get gestational diabetes. She was always ready to listen and take time to make sure everything was going fine. She ended up doing a c-section three weeks early on me because of eclampsia but she did a wonderful job. I would recommend anyone going to see her is you are thinking of having a baby or are searching for an OB/GYN in the Rowlett/Wylie/Rockwall area.
PROS: Takes time to meet and listen to the patient/friendly nurses
We had our son enrolled at the Lighthouse from 3-4 years of age. He loved the teachers there who were very hands on and didn't mind giving out hugs to the kids who needed some extra tender care. The Halloween festivals were always fun and we looked forward to them each year. They do a Christmas Angel tree each year and that is good at teaching the kids that there are other kids in the world that might not have what you do. All in all it is a very good place to have your child in daycare or preschool up to Kindergarten.
PROS: Wonderful teachers
CONS: A bit pricey and out of the way
We have three boys in the family and haircuts can become pretty expensive. We have been going to Great Clips here in Rockwall in the Albertson's shopping center for five years now and we have always been satisfied. They will take the time to chat with you and have always made our sons feel at ease. For the price it is one haircut you just can't beat. Our oldest son is in karate and he goes there to get his haircut for tournaments just like the instructor at his school.
PROS: Great price, nice stylists
We enrolled our second son in this preschool/daycare when he was only 5 weeks old. He was well cared for in this school however I took him out at 1 1/2 to stay at home with him. It is a good daycare but with a lot of kids of all ages hanging around each other means lots of germs and bugs are passed around. It is very conveniently located close to 75 and the University of Texas at Dallas.
PROS: Good parking, friendly employees
CONS: Lots of kids means lots of germs going around
We enrolled our oldest son in the Montessori school when he was 3 1/2 years old because I worked in the area at the time. He went through 1 1/2 years of preschool here and 1 year in a regular preschool/daycare. I can tell you that the lessons he received here at the Montessori school are still with him to this day. He learned not only good school information here but he also was introduced to a peer group that consisted of children of all colors, nationalities, and physical attributes. I am proud to say that my son doesn't see people in colors or physical attributes but for whom they are and I have to say that this school played a part in that at such an early age for him. We were always treated with respect when we went into the school.
PROS: Good learning, great teachers
CONS: Parking lot is small
