Great homemade baked goods and wonderful, sweet (almost too sweet!) coffee. Prices are lower compared to other coffee houses in the area. A great atmosphere - smoking/nonsmoking sections are separated. A wonderful place to read, study, or just hang out and be seen.
Russ' is a mainstay in the Grand Rapids dining scene. They have great salads, soups, baked goods. Their food can be a bit pricey, but still better than most chain restaurants in the area.
Ram's Horn has become my favorite stop for a late-night treat after a night at a bar or club. They are a family restaurant with a great variety of choices. Good food for a good value!
Rainbow Grill is the dictionary-definition of a family restaurant. Prices are good and the staff knows you by name only upon a few visits. We're a weekly visitor to this restaurant - a great place for a basic burger and fries!
My husband and I find ourselves at Macaroni Grill more often than we'd like to admit. We LOVE their Arrabiata sauce. However, it seems like every time we order it, a different ingredient (basil, garlic, etc) is left out and it's never as good as it should be. I've actually complained to staff about it and been fairly compensated...but it keeps happening. Still, it's a great chain that can never be beat when you're looking for great Italian food.
4 Friends clearly caters to the business population downtown, and it works. Their lineup has not only coffee, but gelato (similar to ice cream) and yummy baked goods from the Wealthy Street Bakery. Their coffee is a bit strong, and you can never taste the flavor shots in their drinks, but the Macademia Nut Fudge blend is to die for. Prices are comparable to other shops in the area.
I actually shop at Keegstra's more now that it has become a dollar store. It has some beautiful items such as canvas bags that I would pay much more than a dollar for! It also has a nice array of candles.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a Valentine's Day treat. We were able to make our own dinner in the kitchen and then watch movies. Warm cookies came with our reservation! It was wonderful!
I love the Meijer Gardens, especially in the springtime when the butterfly show is on. It's a wonderful, serene atmosphere...great to bring a date! Their gift shop is also full of unique garden accessories and other items. A must visit in GR!
I can't remember anything special about Century 21 Pearson Cook, but I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Our agent, Denise, was friendly, helpful, and accessible as we strugged to buy our first house. We hope to use her services again when we sell our house.
