With the Art Institute right up the street, Columbia College has quite the competion--but it lives up to its dedication. That dedication is to give students the best atmosphere to creatively strive in. As a photography undergraduate student, the school's departments were brilliant. Instructors are from real world jobs and teach with passion and dedication. The classrooms are small. The courses are well organized. It is a private institution, but well worth the cost to go there. Most classes will tune the student into their creative passions and evolve them along the way.
PROS: Atmpsphere, opportunities, instructors

These rare to find market stores are worth a gander. Sendiks not only has unique food, healthy attention foods, great atmospheres--but has many great locations. It is well stocked, maintained, and bursting with flavor and quality.

This corner quick eatery houses some of the most expensive take-out food out there. Sure, great quality, ample amount of choices, and decent location...but not customer savvy. The food is good once you find a seat to sit down at (little patio space available). The sandwiches are worth trying--the tuna is light and tastey. Also, the juices are great.
PROS: Good food, health attention, quick service
CONS: small dining space, overpriced

Also, they don't take credit card for payment. There is an atm outside the door--but it charges high fees. Be prepared with cash!

Hole in the wall bookstores are the reason why shopping for books is fun. Forget the cheesy house cafes and poorly selected music playing over the intercom. Unabridged books is just one of those places you have to go and support. With their excellent selection of all the newest releases, classics, and plenty of gay culture--it is a must go to for any Northside visitor. The staff is helpful, the books are everywhere and they are always willing to order any out-of-stock copies. There is no cafe in this book store, but the extra room for the hard to find copies of your must have book make up for that.
PROS: Selection, friendliness, Independently owned
CONS: The atmosphere could use a little sprucing up

If someone comes to Chicago and says "I want some sushi". You begin to scan through the millions of places where sushi is served. What it comes down to is atmosphere, service, and quality. Sushi Wabi is a place where zen atmosphere equals a zen feeling. The sushi is perfectly prepared. The service offers plenty to be happy about. Also, this little get away resturant on Randolph shows there are great places to dine all over this city. Enjoy the mulitude of sushi dishes, classic bar in the corner of the resturant, mood lighting, jazz fushion music playing overhead and modern colors correlating with the dishes. The food is costly, but most don't want to mess with the quality of sushi.
PROS: Atmosphere, design, staff, food,
CONS: Small dining area, costly
When you walk by, the windows tempt you to remember this place. The light-hearted wall colors, shelves of toys, and make-shift dining tables make this thai resturant out of the Chicago ordinary. So, now you are in and sitting at the table peering over the clever design of the menu. What dish should you choose? Any! Each dish is uniquely visited by the thai flavor with a special twist--the noodles. The noodles, homemade, are just as much of a variety as the dishes. Pad See Ewe with your choice of tofu, chicen, or beef is a perfect place to start with the unique flat noodles. Pad Prik is spectacular and the in house specials are always worth a try. The staff is outgoing and always friendly. Table wait is at a minimum. The prices are extremely reasonable. Most importantly, it is a thai resturant that has stepped out of the norms and has introduced a little childish fun in the Wrigleyville area.
PROS: Taste, interior design, staff, service, take-out and delievery
CONS: Sometimes the resturant is too small and can't hold the crowd.
