These guys are the epitome of shady.
First of all, we went to them for our very first car. Being young and inexperienced they saw us coming a mile away. They sold us a piece of garbage, and told us it was in perfect condition. On top of that, they took advantage of us and gave us waaay to high of an interest rate (which we didn't find out until later when it was too late), but made it look ok on paper. The sales staff are liars, all of them, and just out to fill their pockets at everyone else's expense! If you absolutely have to buy here, make sure you are EXPERIENCED or bring someone who is!!
Their service department is even worse! When our car would need repair (which was quite frequent) they would tell us to bring it in and then take forever to get to it, leaving us without a vehicle. They didn't provide a loaner car either. The worst part is the actual work - they rarely fixed it appropriately and we would have to keep bringing it back. Even worse than that, they would say they did work that they actually didn't do - just to scam our insurance company! On top of everything else, their prices are outrageous!
My best advice - just say NO!!
PROS: NOT ONE THING
Video only has several types of electronic equipment - televisions, stereos, alarm clocks, DVD players, etc. We puchased a wide screen television from them recently.
The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because their sales people are a bit on the used car salesman side. They immediatly cling to you as you walk in the door. However, if you are comfortable being straightforward and asking for some space they do respect that. They are also willing to work on their prices if you feel the asking price is too much. We got our television for the asking price but said we'd pay that much only to include delivery and tax (saving us about $400).
I recommend Video Only for your electronic needs, with two cautions - don't take the asking price at face value and also ask the salespeople for breathing room if you need it.
PROS: Quality merchandise, workable prices
CONS: Clingy sales people
First of all, this unique far surpasses other local favorites in that you will not find another like it!
Tasty, Fun, Romantic, all in one! My husband and I went for our anniversary, so we did splurge on the full experience! We got our choice of cheese/appetizer fondue, followed with a salad course. Then you get your choice of entree (we had the surf n turf) which you can choose how you wish to cook - in wine or oil. Finally, you get a dessert fondue of your choice. We chose the turtle, with a caramel chocolate & brandy fondue which we dipped fruits, cheesecake and brownies in! YUM! Everything was really delicious! It is a bit on the expensive side, but if you can't afford to really splurge, just go for one course - cheese or dessert! The service is great and our waitress made sure to explain everything to us, from what we were getting to how to go about cooking and eatting it. Whether you are on a date, or just out with friends, I HIGHLY recommend The Melting Pot!
PROS: Unique quisine, fun, great service
CONS: a little expensive
A climbing wall, rollercoaster simulator, lazer tag, bumper cars, carnival games, a small arcade, mini golf, and 8 other major attractions (my favorite is Wild River - very similar to the one at Disneyland) are all waiting to entertain you downtown at Seattle's Fun Forest. Located just under the Space Needle, you can't miss it!
The rides are fun, and it's a great place to take family and friends who are visiting from out of town.
It is best to visit in the summer when you can get ride bracelets for only $20.00 and you can use them for up to 9 hours of unlimited rides. Otherwise you won't get that deal, and the hours of operation in non-summer months are limited.
PROS: Fun rides, something for everyone
CONS: A bit expensive
Whether you are a family with chilren, a grandparent, a couple on a date, or just kids looking for a safe place to have fun, Family Fun Center will have something for you!
First, you will enter a HUGE arcade. Here you will find games and attractions from age 2 - age 102. There is something for everyone.
Upstairs you will find Laser Tag, and Bullwinkles (the restaurant/snack bar). I can't say Bullwinkles serves gourmet food, but at least if your tummy is grumbling and you aren't ready to leave, you will be able to find something.
Outside there are attractions galore! Mini golf, bumber boats, batting cages, go-karts, and the newer "sling shot".
Prices vary, depending on what you want to do. They are a little on the expensive side, but they do offer package specials to save you money on multiple options. They even offer an incentive program, where kids can bring in report cards with As and Bs and get free tokens!
PROS: Fun for all ages!
CONS: Kind of expensive
Sisters Espresso has three locations. This review is on their Tukwila location.
First of all, you will always be greeted with a smile! The baristas are friendly, cheerful, in addition to being highly talented espresso makers! I have never had a bad cup here! Whether ordering lattes, mochas, chai or some other caffiene fix, it is perfect and just as requested every time!
For service with a smile, and a cup of Joe you will appreciate, go to Sisters Espresso!
PROS: Great coffee & service
Ruth Dykman YFS is a great place for counseling! If you need family counseling they have that option available, but this referral is for their youth individual counselors.
Both of my foster children needed therapy and RD came highly recommended. So I called and set up therapy. The children's therapists were both excellent! They were well skilled, understanding, empathetic, and patient. They even came and met with the kids at the house when it was convenient for us! Their appointment scheduling was also very smooth and organized as well.
If you are in the market for therapy either for your children or your family, try Ruth Dykman!
PROS: good therapists
This is a smallish tutoring service but the tutors will work hard to help.
We sent our Jr. High aged daughter to them for help. They have a few tutors available and were accomodating to our busy schedules - even meeting with her in the evenings when we needed them to. It was also affordable, which is a major plus. There were not a lot of bells and whistles (as you might expect with Sylvan), but they were able to spend one on one time with her and help her learn in her own way and at her own pace, in spite of her learning disabilities.
If you need a tutor, or need a tutor for your child, I would recommend them. Keep in mind they aren't as fancy as Sylvan, but if funds are tight and you need a good budget tutor, try the Tutoring Loft!
CONS: Not as many options as bigger places like Sylvan
Burien Grocery Outlet is the best place to get your canned and packaged (non-perishable) items. Their prices are their best selling point! In addition, variety is also great. BGO sells everything from groceries, to toiletries, to household items, and more.
While prices are great on everything you will find here, I don't recommend perishables or bread items. The bread is almost always stale or molds quickly, and not only have I gotten sick from eating some of the meats, I have heard similar stories from others. I think this is because many of their items are close to their due dates which is how they can offer them so cheap. But they also offer 100% guarantee, so if you choose to buy perishables and find something unsatisfactory you can return it. And for those brave souls, you may not have the same problems with perishables as I have.
Don't let me scare you away though. I do highly recommend their non-perishable items. They are good quality, and at highly affordable prices, as are the toiletry items. Also, they have recently added fresh produce, and so far at excellent bargain prices, their produce is good quality!!
The employees of BGO are very friendly and helpful as well.
Good deals! While I can't recommend the perishables, I highly recommend the rest of the store items!
CONS: Not so great non-perishable items
Whether you are looking for kitchen wares, gifts, hardware, groceries, cleaning supplies, toiletries, toys, whatever! Dooley's is the place to check first!
They may not always have what you are looking for, but when they do, you will be shocked at how inexpensive it is! Their prices are so low, you might think you saw wrong! their selection changes almost daily so check back often.
The clerks are also friendly and helpful.
If you are in need of just about anything, stop by Dooley's. There is a good chance you will find it! If not, you are sure to find a zillion other things you need or want at extremely reasonable prices!!
PROS: PRICES! Service, selection!
