Camerons Construction
This company installed sewers for two of our neighbors, and removed a tree stump for us. They were hardworking, courteous, and careful (when removing our tree stump they took great care not to damage our lawn), and I would recommend them.
Best Choice Home Improvement
We had several bids on installing new windows in our house, and this company gave us by far the best price (and less canned sales patter). Their workers were prompt, competent, and courteous, and the windows look great.
Kirkland Library
This is a very decent library with a good selection of fiction and children's books. They also have lots of public access computers for internet use. One nice thing about this library is there's always parking, since it's right next to Kirkland's public parking garage.
Neil A. Hansen, DDS
This dentist is very nice and does excellent work. His staff are also nice and very helpful. They also seem to run on time, at least in my experience; I have never had to wait long.
Far Fetched Furniture
Lots of consignment furniture with a wide range of styles and prices. Some is very high-quality, some more modest, all at reasonable prices. They also have odds and ends like knick-knacks and dishes.
Rnr Automotive Refinishing
This place was referred to me when somebody keyed the side of my car. They did an excellent repair job, and their customer service was good. I would recommend them wholeheartedly.
Safeway
This store seems to have about everything, sometimes for good prices. I especially like the bulk items, like the big boxes of diapers. But it is often busy and crowded, so that sometimes you can't park very close and the checkout lines are long.
Bridle Trails Red Apple Market
This is a great place to go grocery shopping. Their prices are reasonable, and they often have great produce sales. No membership cards required! And somebody is always willing to help you out to the parking lot.
Bellevue Regional Library
I love the King County Library. With three or four dozen branches, the system has a huge collection, and it's easy to have these books shipped to your local library. Their website has some great features; you can place books on hold, cancel holds, renew, order interlibrary loans, and find out where your books are being held. The Bellevue Library is especially fun, since it's so big (3 stories high).
The Bellevue Library also has a fun little used bookstore run by volunteers; the selection is pretty small, but the prices are terrific.
