Sewickly Addition

Portland, OR Restaurants 07/11/05: 'stiff.'

This place is really low brow and in that sense has some good point for being gritty and having way stiff drinks and plenty of dart boards availalbe. One of my friends got pregnant with her first born after a night there, for whatever that is worth. be sure to walk home or call a cab though, as they will famousely overserve you here.

Doug Fir Restaurant

Portland, OR Restaurants 07/11/05: 'hipster denny's'

The doug fir is alright but if you go ther after a show at the Bossanova, be sure and leave before anyone else and get a table, otherwise you are screwed.

PROS: cheap decent food, opened way after bars close
CONS: its kind of a 'scene'. A bit uppity for no apperant reason.

Spare Room Restaurant & Lounge

Portland, OR Bars & Clubs - Portland, OR Restaurants 06/14/05: 'horrifying and erie'

This plae is like out of a time machine from the fifties or something. Old people sing Besa me Mucho on stage with a live band and the kitchen dishes out stale jojos at six dollars a pop. they pour a very stiff drink.

Scrap

Portland, OR Art Supplies 06/14/05: 'recycling rules!'

Scrap is a recycling center for items that are no longer functional in thier original way but which can still be used to make things like puppets, sculptures, and collages. they will sell you as much ribbon and fabric as you can stand for very very cheap, as long as you promise to do something creative with it!

Cost Plus World Market

Portland, OR Home Furnishings 06/14/05: 'glamour!'

this place is way more exciting than is sounds. it is like Pier One, only HUGE and cheaper! I get this sense like there might be something kind of icky about it, because it is too good to be true, like, maybe all of the stuff is made in sweatshops or something...but I don't know for sure, and I don't want to know, because this place RULES~!

Imelda's Shoes

Portland, OR Shoes & Boots 06/14/05: 'cute socks!'

this place has the cutest socks and purses and gloves and earings in the whole wide world. But they are expensive so don't go looking for a bargain. If you wake up and you're all "I'm gonna buy myself something really nice today, and I don't care how much it costs" than this is where you go.
