Colorado is tough on wood decks and the choices of synthetic decking products can be confusing. Carefree eas our choice: the material is the same color all the way through and never needs painting and trhe company has been in business locally for many years. Our deck has never looked so good.
PROS: good color selection, no painting needed
For the best meats and a wonderful selection of sweet temptations from their own bakery, Tony's is the place. They also do gourmet cooking classes taught by their staff chefs - well worth checking out. Tony's is the perfect place when you want something different and delicious, since they stock delicacies from around the world.
PROS: some things you won't find anywhere else
CONS: not for shoppers on a tight budget
Elliot Richard at Hair Images used to cut hair competitively and won the national title. Now he just gives great haircuts. If you want your hair (and beard) to look great, this is the place.
PROS: appointments eliminate waiting, shoeshine just outside
The big difference between Wild Oats, Whole Foods, and Sunflower Market is price. They have great meat, a wide selection of fresh produce and international cheeses, plus a wonderful bakery. They carry all the healthy organic foods you'd expect, only at prices that will put a big smile on your face. My wife and I drive across town at least monthly just to shop here.
PROS: price, selection
CONS: only a single location in metro Denver area.
This is where you go to get your best photos done - dynamite enlargements, special processing, superb digital scans. Reed is world class. They will bring out every nuance in your image. Many of their customers are professional photographers but they'l do their magic for amateurs as well.
PROS: Simply the best
CONS: you pay for the quality
Mojo wheels caters to younger mountain bike riders and the staff knows their stuff. While many places try to sell you the special of the week, they listen to you and try to fit your needs. But they really shine in service.
PROS: good selection, knowledgeable staff
CONS: new bikes at MSRP or nearly so
Wu's is a small, comfortable family run Chinese restaurant with very good food and friendly service. Try the hot and sour soup or the kung pao shrimp and you won't be disappointed. Not world class, just typical good Chinese cooking.
PROS: reasonable prices, excellent service
Sit down in an easy chair and browse a good book or enjoy a mocha from the coffe bar while chatting with friends. The Tattered Cover is like no other bookstore. It's what all the others wish they were. Four stories provide room with a tremendous selection and just the bargain books outnumber what most bookstores carry. Truly one of the world's best bookstores.
PROS: customer service second to none, 2hr free parking in attached garage.
CONS: tendency to spend too much
The Denver area has too many uninspired Mexican restaurants. The Bluebonnet is different - the food is not only spicy but tasty. From the chips and salsa to all the kinds of burritos, you won't be disappointed. Plus, if you like margaritas, ya gotta try theirs.
PROS: reasonable prices, patio available during warm weather
CONS: sometimes lonf wait during busy times
My dog dislikes most groomers, but the folks at Central Bark are doing something right, since he loves to go there. They do a great job of grooming and are friendly and helpful.
