International Band 7 Orchestra

Des Plaines, IL Musical Instruments 06/17/05: 'music store'

this music store sells instruments (strings, winds and percussion), accessories and some music sheets. It's a good place to go if you need a specific accossory quickly (reeds, ligature, strings....) but their music library doesn't have much and they don't have that many instruments. I had my clarinet recorked there once and I had to come back two times before I could get something I liked. The prices are Ok.

Sayre Woodwind's

Lombard, IL Musical Instrument Tuning and Repair 06/17/05: 'woodwind repair shop'

I made a life-long committment to this repair shop! I play clarinet and M. Sayre has done a wonderful work on my instrument every times I went there. His prices are not to high and he is not going to do anything without telling you all the details and asking you if you agree. it's quite a long ride to get there if you leave in Chicago but it's completly worth it!

Presence Inc

Chicago, IL Clothing & Accessories - Women's 06/17/05: 'nice and unique clothes and accessories'

this store has a huge collection of adorable women accessories and clothing. everything is really fashionable and quite unique. unfortunatly the prices are very high so it's not a student friendly boutique!

Brown Elephant

Chicago, IL Consignment Shops 06/17/05: 'resale store and charity'

this store accepts donations and sells clothes, furnitures, dishes, books... to raise funds for HIV/Aids care and gay and lesbian services. everything is used but in good condition and rather cheap. the quality of the articles varies a lot from week to week but it's possible to dress there (pants, t-shirts, skirts....) for cheap and even to find nice furniture for less than $50.

Ragstock Stores

Chicago, IL Costumes 06/17/05: 'recycled clothes'

this store has recycled clothes as well as discounted new clothes. some of it is really cheap but most of it is still a litlle too pricy for my taste. they do have cool and unique stuff but it's really messy so you have to spend a long time looking before finding good stuff.

Village Discount Store

Chicago, IL Restaurants 06/17/05: 'cheap used clothes'

this is the ideal store for broke students! you can get t-shirt for $2, pants for $4, books for 50 cents and a lot more! ok, it's a little messy and you have to dedicate time to look for the perfect clothes because they carry completly torn stuff as well as brand new. but it's worth it if you don't like to spend money on you outfit!!

Tre Kronor

Chicago, IL Restaurants 06/15/05: 'awsome little restaurant'

This little swedish restaurant in the northwest side is fabulous! the food is very good, it's not too expensive and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.
if you go there try the eggs benedicts, one of my favorites ! but if you go on sundays be prepared to wait : it gets really crowded.
