The Practice Greens At Bobicks
If you or someone you shop for loves golf, then this is the place to go. They have everything you can think of for golf fanatics, from clubs to balls to attire, gloves and more! They have quality merchandise, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the products. They will help with great recommendations or other advice. They also have a driving range where you can go to hit a bucket of balls. They have great end-of-the-season and beginning-of -the-season sales as well. They aren't inexpensive, but the quailty is well worth the price. Even if you know nothing about golf like me, you can go in there and find something for your friend or family member who loves the sport.
Flamingo Hotel & Casino
This is where we stayed on our trip to Las Vegas. It is very centrally located on the strip, which makes it very convenient. Also, the hotel itself is nice enough for the time you spend there. Most rooms have been redecorated and are very clean. They are not the high end rooms that you will find in some of the much newer and nicer hotels, though. The casino is nice-sized as well. The food in the restaurants is great, especially the buffet. The pool was too chilly to visit when we were there, but was beautiful, as were the gardens with the live flamingos in them. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced hotel that will put you in the middle of the strip and has some nice attractions to see, this is the place to go.
Enclave Coffee House
I love the ambiance of downtown Willoughby, and this is one of the reasons. This is a cute little coffee shop located right in the middle of downtown Willoughby. It offers great coffee, desserts, and snacks, as well as video rentals. What convenience, huh? What's especially nice is that when it's nice weather you can sit outside at tables and people watch down Erie St. Of course, you have to deal with parking, which isn't easy there. There are a few meters in front of the store, but your best bet is to park around the corner and just walk to the shop. It's worth the short walk!
Lake County Farmers Market
This market is a great idea, but hasn't lived up to it's full potential yet. It's located at a former party center, and at first was in tents outside in the parking lot. This situation was less than ideal, especially in hot, cold or wet weather. Plus, the parking was a mess. Now it's moved indoors and is better. The produce is very fresh, but don't come here if you're looking for a deal. The prices are at least as high, if not quite a bit higher than in the grocery stores. They do run specials from time to time, which offers some great prices, but the quality tends to go down a little bit. Overall, if you go on the right day you may get some great produce at a reasonable price. The service is good, and the people are friendly.
Croatian Lodge Party Ctr Inc
We've been to several events and parties here at the Croatian Lodge Party Center, and unfortunately we haven't had the best experiences here. The food is OK, not great, and is served family style. Normally, if your table finishes the food, they'll ask if you want more. Not here. They staff isn't always very friendly, either. They're a little 'rough'. The pastries here are pretty good, though. The hall itself is tastefully decorated, but is somewhat dark and dreary. It's not at all bright and festive as it should be for festive occasions. There is plenty of parking outside, which is nice. There are so many places available around town for events, and I'd recommend looking at them before booking here.
H & H Cycle & Power Equipment
We inherited some yard equipment with our house, and didn't have a clue as to where to go for parts when the things started to break. Since one of the products (the lawnmower) is a Honda and H & H has a Honda sign in their window, we decided to give it a shot and stop there. It really paid off for us. They have a ton of different parts and supplies for all types of tractors, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and more. They carry a lot of hard-to-find items as well. If they don't have it, they will do what they can to help you find it. They're very friendly and helpful there.
Yano's Automotive Svc
This automotive repair business is great. They are family owned, and have been in their same location for over 50 years. They will offer you a price quote on the work that needs to be done, and they are often the lowest price. Even if they are not, the work they do is high quality and is also guaranteed, so it may be worth spending just a bit more money to get the job done right. The service is great because it is personalized and not from a big chain. If you need any work done from a simple oil change to something more complicated, give them a call to see if they're the best for you.
Freeway Lanes
This alley was once part of the Palisades chain of bowling alleys. Since being taken over by Freeway Lanes, a lot has changed. The interior has been redone, with colorful new carpeting and brighter lights. It's overall a much cleaner place. We went here recently for a kid's birthday party, and it was a lot of fun for the kids. They put the bumpers on for them, had kid-themed graphics on the score boards, and served kid-friendly food like pizza and hot dogs. The birthday boy got a Happy Birthday bowling pin for everyone to sign as well. It was nicely done and very convenient for the mom, especially since they clean up after the party for you! This is a great place for adults to go to cosmic bowling on Saturday nights as well. They have specials for practically every night of the week. Check it out for some fun entertainment!
Premier Signs & Graphics
We've had signs made here for our family business a few times, and each time they've turned out very nicely. They make signs in every shape, size and color for any event that you can think of. We've even asked them to match a certain color and print type, and they were able to do it. You can also add different designs and graphics to the signs or posters as well. The turnaround time is also pretty quick. Usually we are able to receive our signs in just a few days. The hours aren't extremely convenient, though, because they close early enough that it's hard to get there after work. But the work is done right and the prices are reasonable, so we keep going back. This is a great place to go if you need any type of sign made for any occasion.
All Star Chimney Service
We had All Star Chimney come and repair a few layers on our chimney recently. When he came to give the quote, he was very straight-forward and honest, and didn't try to overcharge us for work that didn't need to be done. In fact, one other place told us that our whole chimney needed to be replaced and quoted us an outrageous price. He inspected it and said that it was in great shape except for the top 6 rows and a few other individual bricks. His price was great, so we went with him. He was quick, very friendly, and did some great work. He also cleaned up after himself and didn't leave a huge mess. He did his best to match 50+ year old brick, and did very well. He had a hard time removing some of the older ones in the middle, but he worked very hard on them until he got them replaced. I'd recommend him for any other chimney work that you may need done.
