Camarillo Sunshine Apartments

We lived in teh camarillo sunshine apartments for about 4 years - the 2 bedrooms are very spacious - great floor plan - the building is older but there are some plusses to that - the pool is pretty good and best of all they rent a bit below what the going rate is - management is good - the place has a real get to know your neighbor feel - we so enjoyed our time there.

PROS: spacious, good fireplaces

Lacy Park

If you're a San Marino resident then you probably already know about this beautiful gem of a park - if not - i'll let you in on thier neighborhood secret - great big green park - tons of palm trees - 2 different trails/tracks for walking, running or biking - great playground for children, and a beautiful rose garden. If you are not a San Marino resident then you have to pay to get in the park on the weekends - entry is free to all on week days - and they have special events here all year long - our favorites are the fireman's pancake breakfast in May and winter in the park in January - they bring in snow for the kids - its' awesome

Nibley Park

We went to this park for the first time for a birthday party - it was totally tucked away from any highway - and very little street acces - though the only parking was street parking - it was a lovely park - with lots of trees and we had an absolutely wonderful time - we grilled burgers and played lawn games - the kids had a ball

PROS: great shade trees, secluded
CONS: hard to find street parking

Showfax

As an actor - Showfax is an invaluable resource - most all agencies recommend them - when you have to get sides for an audition - this is the best place to go. They will fax or email them to you and you can pay per use or you can get a yearly membership. Truly a must for all working actors.

Central Casting

If you're new to Hollywood and looking to try your hand in the movies or on TV - this is a great place to start - they cast extras and background performers for both - if you are consistently available when called on to work - you will work more often. They cast both non union and union actors - so even if you have no experience - you can still find yourself on a movie set.

Needle World

This little shop on woodman has a great selection of yarns - but they really have a great array of needlepoint canvas - many hand painted - just beautiful - i only wish i had the time to actually do one - they offer classes here - and staff is very nice - again - beautiful needlepoint canvases.

Happy Hookers' Too

Don't let the name fool you - this is a serious yarn store - really great selection - lots of yarns that are very unique - great place to find something just a little bit different - love thier sense of humor - especially in naming the store - staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Stitch Cafe

I love to knit scarfs - for holiday gifts - and this place has the best selection of yarns - really different stuff than you'll find at the bigger stores - my scarfs can be done in the most simple of knitting patterns and they look amazing because of the special yarns i get at the Stitch Cafe - staff is really nice here - would love to try out the classes some time.

Pizza Hut

My little 5 year old and I went here for a little mommy and me time - we found the cutest animal coffee mugs - we each painted one - had the best time doing so - not very expensive and returned in a few days to pick up our glazed and fired pieces - now our favorite thing to do is to each have a hot chocolate min our animal mugs that we painted ourselves. Thank you staff on Lankershim - you ladies were great!

Tender Sender

I was in a hurry - had to buy a gift - ran to the Glendale mall - got what i needed and then headed to the post office - but before i got out of the mall i spotted Tender Sender - not only did they wrap my gift - bow and all - but then they packaged it for mailing - little styrofoam peanuts for safe travel - and i ups'd it right there - my i'm in a hurry trip - just changed into - I've got it all covered - easily - thank you tender sender - the staff was so nice and helpful
