Uwajimaya Inc

i love Uwajimayas for many reasons. i grew up in seattle and spent a lot of time downtown with my father. we would end up at Waji's a lot and i was always facinated with all of the different asian products and foods. i was wary about it's move, but it's been a good thing. there are even more products and better prices. the produce price and selection can't be beat and it's a wonderful place to get exotic and local seafood. i have a fasination with asian candy/sweets and there is no lack of interesting choices. the food court is an interesting idea and has a great selection as well.

Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant - Seattle

i give this place 3 stars for a couple of reasons. the place isn't entirely horrible, but i've consistantly found the service to be lacking and unfriendly. this is usually a place i get wine or beer as you know what you are going to get that way. their drinks are usually more filler than alcohol. however, their food is good and they do have a fun decor, especially the dungeon in the back!

Owl'N Thistle Irish Pub

Seattle, WA Bars & Clubs 06/23/05: 'subterranean seattle'

i've never been to ireland, so i don't know how irish this bar is. what i do know is that they host a lot of good bands with irish flare. i also enjoy the exposed brick, below the street line, subterranean feel of the place.

Linda's tavern

Seattle, WA Bars & Clubs 06/23/05: 'Ryan Rides Again!'

every since linda's started serving liquor and the madatory food, it has become one of my favorite places to go for happy hour. their bar food is better than your regular bar food and their selection of draft beer is diverse. you gotta love the large cowboy picture in the back "Death, where is thy sting?" Watch out cuz Ryan Rides Again!

Whiskey Bar

Seattle, WA Bars & Clubs 06/23/05: 'whiskey is good for you'

while the whiskey bar is smaller in size it has a wonderful selection of, duh, whiskey. the jukebox has a good selection and they do have a good outdoor seating section. if it's not raining it's great for people watching and catching a few afternoon rays.

New Luck Toy Cafe

Seattle, WA Cafes - Seattle, WA Chinese Restaurants 06/23/05: 'stiff drinks, decent food, hillarious karaoke'

if you are looking for a way to boost your self esteem or to ruin it, this is the best place for bad karaoke. the food is above average "standard" chinese fare, but it's very delisious, especially the next day. you can get food there late, which is a rarity in west seattle. if you go there often enough there are several very sweet servers there that will make an effort to know your order.

Rickshaw Restaurant & Lounge

while this place has an interesting apeal in it's random decor, the food is so disgusting. i have eaten there several times and each time i do i wonder why i subjected myself to the greasy nastiness that they call chinese food. i love chinese food, all types of chinese food, but their food could hardly be considered as edible.

Azuma Sushi

Azuma Sushi is a wonderful Japanese restaurant in West Seattle. Their service is fast and friendly and their food is amazing. Even if you aren't into sushi their other fares are just as wonderful. The prices are good, especially for the proportion size.
