Wendy's
It's been a while since we have had a Wendy's in this area. The food is the freshest of all the local fast food chains. The service time is great and so is the staff. The food is always fresh and hot. The have a wonderful value menu that gives you more than other fast food value menus. They have great variety and lots of healthy selections. Hands down, the best fast food in the area. Welcome Back Wendy's!
IHOP
This is a great place to eat everything from pancakes to steaks. I love the diversity of this menu and the freshness of the food. I sometimes order and pick it up. This is a plus for me since I am oft times too busy to stop and dine in. The staff at this location is friendly and accommodating. When they are busy, parking can be a bit of a problem, but it is worth it. It's the only place I go for pancakes and their sandwiches are to die for. The menu is pretty basic, but the food is extraordinary.
The Promenade At Howard Hughes Center
Located in a cozy corner off of Sepulveda, The Promenade at the Howard Hughes Center is an oasis of food, fun and shopping for everyone. Not only can you see all the latest movies, but you can shop and dine at one of my favorite places: Johnny Rockets! This diner style restaurant is a flash back in time. They serve basic American fare, malts, hamburgers, french fries, all the stuff we love. The food is fresh and the staff is lively and friendly. There is convenient underground parking and the area is very secure. This is the perfect place to take a date, your family and or shop.
Border's Stores
Going to Border's is more than just another visit to a bookstore. Nestled in the newly constructed Howard Hughes center, Border's also has a coffee shop inside, near the interest. The staff is helpful and non intrusive. You can listen to CD samples, browse through each section of the store undisturbed. Have a seat and sip a cup of coffee or eat a tasty treat. Parking is conveniently located next door in the designated parking structure. It is affordable and secure. This store is more like a big cozy living room with books on every subject imaginable and comfy chairs to lounge in. I love this place because it is calm and serene. I can escape into a fantasy world while searching for books that meet my fancy. By far, one of my favorite places to go to browse and relax.
Topozio's Cake Artistry
If you're ready to lose yourself in the decadent warmth of the best cakes in L.A., then Topozio's can take you there. Whether you are looking for a cake for a wedding, shower or birthday, Topozio's is hands down the best cake in L.A. Only the finest ingredients are used and the artistry of the cake designs are magnificent. Not only do they house one of the most talented bakers in California in Jesus Ornelas, they also house some of the most creative cake artists anywhere. At topozio's, no imagination is to far our for them. This posh and talked about Bakery has been featured in such notable magazines as Los Angeles weddings and Wedding style, just to name a few. What I was most impressed by was there wide variety of cake flavors and fillings. Their cakes simply melt in your mouth. I have been in love ever since the first taste and I am sure you will too.
Von's
This grocery is so much more than food. After a complete overhaul, Von's has gone from an ordinary grocery, to a full service market that houses gourmet foods as well as an express Starbucks, small house wares and an impressive stationary and greeting card section. I was actually able to do grocery and gift shopping here last year for mother's day. The produce is fresh as well as the seafood and butcher sections. The store is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The deli section has a sandwich section where signature sandwiches are made. these sandwiches can rival any sandwich from a gourmet daily. They always have most of their lines open, so there isn't much waiting. There represent everything a major neighborhood grocery store should: Friendly service, fresh foods and a few extra's that make one stop shopping possible. Finally, a community grocery store with all the luxury of a gourmet grocery store, without gourmet prices. Kudos to this location for it's superb store.
McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant
Evening elegance, food that tickles the taste buds and an atmosphere to die for don't begin to describe the experience at this superb restaurant. I have spent a few birthdays here and each time, the food gets better and better. The service is impeccable. The staff is very accommodating. They are a little pricey, but they do have a few selections under $15, but they are well worth it. The steaks are cooked to your exact specifications and the wine list is quite impressive. The seafood is bursting with freshness and the appetizers are divine and there is great variety. The fare is mostly American and seafood dishes. If you want a lunch or dinner that leave you coming back for more, this is the place.
Jerry's Famous Deli
If you're looking for a classic deli with great food and plenty of it, then Jerry's Deli Is it. Located in beautiful, Marina del Rey, Jerry's deli is everything you would expect from a high class deli and more. The atmosphere is very laid back. No suits and ties necessary. They are open 24 hours a day which is great for a late night run and ideal for club hoppers. In addition to massive selection of foods, the servers are helpful and friendly. My favorite is the mile high corned beef sandwich, which I challenge anyone to finish it. The food is affordable for any budget. From pizza to burgers and Schnitzel, there are plenty of choices for everyone's taste.
