Kelly Services
I went to Kelly years ago to look for a job, they never found me anything worth going to. I got tired of waiting for them to find me a decent job and desided to go someplace else.
They were very unfriendly, snooty, and acted as if you owed them something for finding you a job!
I was very mad and disapointed about the way I was treated.
I would never go back there or recommend them to anyone looking for work.
Manpower
Myself and two of my grandsons went to Manpower to apply for jobs. Within 2 days, they found me a job. I didn't take it because of it being the wrong shift, but they were quick to find work for me.
They told my grandson they could put him to work the next day for a few days work on first shift. Well, he is a new graduate and a night owl, so he refused that one! LOL
Then the next day they called him with a third shift job at a small factory. He loved it there, the crew was good humored and he cought on real quick.
Now he is laid off for a change over for parts. He is counting the days to return to work.
Manpower is located all over the world, everywhere you go, you see a Manpower Office.
If and when I relocate, I plan to find work through Manpower!
Their the BEST Job Service I have ever delt with in my lifetime, and I'm not a young chick!
Professional Medical Placement
I worked through PMP for a while a few years ago and they found me some great temporary office jobs.
They never lasted more than a few weeks, but they were good jobs with friendly people.
If your looking for temp work and like a variety of people, places and atmospheres, this is the place to go!
I really enjoyed working for PMP.
7-Eleven
I would stop for Coffe and a piece of fresh Brownie from 7-Eleven on my way to the Gym.
It is a nice clean store with a friendly atmosphere.
They are always asking if you found everything or if they could help you!
I would also pick up the local newspaper to read while drinking my coffee in the morning.
They have a good variety of sandwiches, quick foods, such as hot dogs, sausages, etc.
Some places do not have a public restroom, but this one does and it is always keep spotlessly clean.
A very nice store to stop at!
Speedway
When I worked in downtown TC, this was my favorite place to stop every morning. We were on a first name basis. I got my regular, French Vanilla Capachino and a Chocolate Doughnut.
The gas was always about the some as cheap charlies next door, so I usually filled up there.
Oh and they gave you a coffee card to get marked ever time you bought coffee. After every 8 cups, you got a FREE one!
That was the best part of stopping there.
The employees were always friendly and helpful and that is a big part of it being one of my favorite stops.
Grawn Shell Mini
This is a nice little station with great service.
Good deals on candybars, Hersheys Yumm!
I think this is one of the few stations that still have a FREE air supply for your tires! Most of them charge 25-50 for air!
There is always fresh Coffee or Capachino waiting every morning when I go to town.
Friendly people, good service, and a great place to stop!
Nascar Connection
We are big NASCAR fans as is our Children and Grandchildren. So where else is there to go for gifts and special things for special people . Well it's the NASCAR Connection! They have some wonderful gifts, a little pricey but NASCAR is worth it! You can get anything NASCAR imaginable in there
Sam's Club
Our Daughter and Us belonged to Sams for several years. We always got good bargins there and never had any complaints with the Food or Merchandise. It's just that we found a better place to shop with better quality Food.
If this other place went out of business, I would gladly go back to SAMS. But as long as GFS is in service, I'll continue to go there!
Dollar Post
I was so happy when this store opened last year. I always had to drive into Traverse City to get good prices on little things I used often in making crafts! When the Dollar Post moved in, I was jumping for joy! It is fsamily owned and operated, so it makes it that much more enjoyable to shop there. They treat you like family and help you get the things you need or tell you exactly where they are located. It has expanded this year and is twice as big! I am happy they are doing good business and go there when I need everyday thing. I was worried when the Dollar General moved in across the street. It does not seem to have hurt them much at all. I get treated and served better at the Dollar Post!
FYE
If FYE don't have it, they can get it! Everything we have wanted for music, FYE has been able to order for us! They are about average in prices and have tons of CD's ,Tapes, and movies musical and Video! It is a wonderful store. You can buy cut and uncut versions, country, rock, jazz, local artist even. It is a great store and you can spend hours in there just looking. Also if you want to get in and out, just ask an employee, they seem to know where everything is at! Have spent many hours in there!
