Borders

We got into Stir-Fry Cooking and went looking for Cookbooks at Boarders. WOW, we ending up buying 5 the first trip there. Then a couple of weeks later we went back and bought 6 more. The help was really efficent, they took us directly to the area we wanted for the cookbooks. Made a few suggestions of authors, which we bought!
We have also bought and ordered Movies and Music CD's there that we couldn't find anywhere else.
They have a lot of On Site Authors and their Book Signings at Boarders too. I know because my Cousin was one of the Authors. I would recommend Boarders to anyone for Books, Movies, Music, Food or just a pleasant day of shopping and looking.

South City Limits

I like going to the South City Limits Restaraunt for dinner. The have a great variety of foods and it seems to always be cooked just right. Most of the servers are male and it is suprising how good humored and efficent they are. We are always pleased with the entire atmosprere. The best part is, it is one of the few places they still have a Smoking Section for my Hubby. I look forward to getting the Check, because with it they bring you a dish with the little Ice Cream Mints on Ice. They are so wonderful and no matter how full you are, there is always room for the Ice Cream.

Linda Zak Seamstress

Linda has been in business for over 40 years. She does most alterations, but does specialize in Making and Altering Wedding Gowns. She goes the extra mile to see your dress is fitted perfectly and ready and waiting for that Special Big Day! However I don't feel she charges enough for her work!
I have seen her take off a huge amount of Lace and Beads, trim etc., then take the dress in or let it out and then resew all the fancies back on. It is so time consuming, yet she never complains! She has altered dresses priced in the Thousands of Dollars or the Cheapest Imaginably and they ALL come out looking like a Million Bucks! What I wouldn't give to have just a little bit of her talent.
Her shop is very small, but serves the purpose and it is very neat and clean!

Miner Home Renovation

Mr. Miner has done carpentry work for the better part of 30 years. He has done a lot of restoration work for other companies in this area, with great reviews from the customers. He has now started his own company listed above. His moto is "Bubba Builds Anything". He does beautiful work and since he can devote 40 hours a week now, the work would be done in a timely fashion. I have a lot of beautiful things he has made! Entertainment Stand, Video Rack, CD Rack, Cedar Chest, Wood Ceiling Tiles, you name it, Bubba can make it! I would highly recommand his work to anyone looking for a Carpenter who cares what the finished work looks like and is Proud of it!

Fife Lake Veterinary Clinic

When we first moved here, our Dog was not used to being loose in the woods. We lived on 10 acres and there was a lot of mischief a dog could get into. We had our Lab Max into see Dr. Roman at the Fife Lake Clinic quite often. Regular shots and care, then there was that Porcupine (twice) , and a nasty sore over his eye that wouldn't heal. For that we had to have surgery! Now with my little dog "Paco", I still travel the 40 minutes drive to have her check him out once a year, give him his shots and clip his toenails. She is such a loving and caring person, you can't help but like her and so do your animals. I would recommand sending any animal to her for help. Good Job Dr. Roman!

VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital

I had a Jack Russell puppy who ate everything she could find.
I mean she ate the plastic cups, tile of the floors and whatever she could find to sink her teeth into. She became very ill and was on deaths door when I took her to Dr Aja at Cherry Bend Animal Hospital. After checking her out with e-rays and tests, I said i couldn't afford that mush money to keep her. So after hours of crying, I signed papers giving her to the Hospital. Later that day when I cried and talked to my husband, he said he would pay for her surgery. So right away I called Dr. Aja and told him I was able to pay for the surgery and wanted to keep her. Thankfully they said OK. The surgery went find and after a few days, she was well enough to bring home. It cost arounf $3,000. for her surgery, a program paid for part of it, but it still cost us plenty. She was a beautiful dog and well worth the cost! The Hospital did an amazing job on her with hours of surgery and 24-7 care. I thank them every time I look at "Jewel" and see how lively she has become because of all the love, care and attention they gave her when needed.

Northern Vision Eye Care

I woked for Dr. Butryn for a while and he is always learning new Technology for different types of Surgery. In the few short months I worked there, he started doing the LASIK surgery and just before I left he started the CK surgery. One of the ladies I worked with had the LASIK surgery done and she said how amazing it was to be able to see again. From what she said she was very close to Blind. It is really amazing how your Eyes can be surgically altered so you can see better. I had never heard of these surgerys before. The new CK (Conductive Keratoplasty) Surgery was very awsome to hear about. Dr. B also removes a lot of Cataracts for people and I find it so hard to believe how well they can see and read after a few days of the surgery!
I think Dr. Butryn is a great Doctor and does wonderful work.
I would tell everyone about his work and experience and surely recommand him to anyone who needed any kind of Eye Surgery.

Grandmas Kitchen

Another local Good Restaurant!
I was a little upset when they got a Liquor License, I thought it took away from the Family Atmosphere.
After a while, I got used to it because the Bar was seperate from the restaurant. They still have Great food and we always order the "Patty-Melt" dinner. There is always enough to take some home. You would think we would learn to order just one for the 2 of us. They have a lot of Homemade foods, soups and pies, which makes it a great place to eat at any time of day.

PROS: Good Food, Cheap, Friendly Atmosphere
CONS: Breakfast is not Hot enough, just warmed!

Papa John's Pizza

I am not big on Spinach, and when I heard about this Spinach Pizza, I went "YUCK!". When it arrived, it looked really good and I couldn't help myself, I had to try a little piece.
What a suprise! It was so Good, I went back for more just to find out it was all gone. I couoldn't wait every week for the Boss to have his meeting and I got to order Pizza for everyone. Yes, Spinach Pizza Please! It was always the first one to go, so you had to get it right away from the pizza guy and take a piece or you didn't get any!
I have ordered other kinds of pizza from there and everyone has been great. I would recommand anyone to go there. They are a little pricy, but well worth it.

Ciceros Pizza

This place is one mile down the road from me and not only convient and cheap, but very good tasting!
The people there are very friendly and I can special order my pizza. We usually get the "Special" and of course I have to alter it a bit. We like Green Olives instead of Black and Bannana Peppers instead of Green Peppers. It is always hot and cooked just right to our liking. Now besides all that, you get a card to list all your purchased pizzas on and when you buy 8, you get one FREE. Now that is the Best part about Ciceros! I would greatly recommand it to anyone for a variety of great pizzas and breadsticks.
