McAlister's Deli
We visited for lunch and really enjoyed our meal. The food was fresh and delivered fast. The salad purchased was huge. My unique deli type sandwich was very good. The lemonade was a little different/special in flavor and very good. I am not a big sweet tea fan, so I passed on that, a specialty. The atmosphere was nice and the place clean and neat.
PROS: good food, good selection, helpful and friendly staff
CONS: a little high in price
Mc Kay Used Books & C D's
We drove more than an hour to visit McKay at the advise of others. It took us about 90 minutes to find about 60% of well known books we needed at reasonable prices. No children's classics in hardcover. Poor organization with books in cubbies instead of rows (like the adult section). One book was WAY overpriced and exceeded the price of a new one. Another book has a sticker that said half-price.. Nope, just what "their" sticker states (again, used at the same price as new}. Not sure why it would be shelved without removing or marking through the sticker then [duh]. This PB book was literally thrown over the shoulder of the checkout clerk without regard. Counter help is less than friendly, no one smiled or even said hello or thank you. What little other staff I saw was shelving books.. again, no smile, greeting or helpfulness. On the other hand, my son found the three Tolkien movies at a really good price. PC Software section was very pricey.. no MAC software found at all.
Interesting place, but I probably won't go out of my way in the future. Just if we're in the area and willing to "browse". The free books outside were worth a dive.. we came home with more from there than inside.

PROS: large selection of books, decent condition, free book bins!
CONS: busy, even during the week, unpleasant staff, some books over-priced
Seven Hills Equestrian Center
From the moment you drive down the long road, you can tell this riding facility is well taken care of and well maintained. The stable is cleaned with tacking, washing facilities, covered arena and outside arena. The instructor/trainer is a quite knowledgeable and patient teacher. This is full service facility with boarding, training, lessons and more.
Updated 1/07: The last trainer, Wendy, left last year. I am not familiar with the trainer or the barn anymore.
Red Lobster
My husband and I went to this restaurant during shrimp fest and were extremely disappointed. I give it satisfactory because the waitress was excellent.. but the food wasn't . We had the "Endless Shrimp" and who would ~want~ to go back for more? The Scampi was extra salty like someone dropped the salt shaker in it. The fried was just "ok". I could do better from a box off the grocery store shelf. I figured it was just what I ordered, so I requested the popcorn shrimp... which was just as tasteless as could be.

PROS: Waitress was the best I have ever had there..
CONS: Food wasn't worth the trip or the cost
Moe's Southwest Grill
This isn't your average taco, folks. Fresh ingredients, hand made to order, this Tex/Mex style restaurant seems to cater to the school bunch (across from Shorter College). We were served promptly, in a buffet style line where we placed our order and watched it being made with our choice of ingredients (depending on what you order) and variations, such as black bean or pinto bean.
PROS: Taste, clean
CONS: Price is a little high
Bruster's Real Ice Cream
A stop at Brusters is a summer favorite for our family. The flavors are always good, always fresh and frozen just right. Watch for special community activities at this location, such as the recent blood drive. Don't forget the ice cream cakes, made to order in the flavor of your choice. How could you go wrong with that! Prices are competitive and you can get a simple cone at a reasonable price.
Weinman William Mineral Museum
It is hard to imagine that we can find all these rocks in and around Georgia. We learned a lot about the minerals, precious metals and gems. It works better if you can get a tour and then browse afterwards. Be sure to pan for gold! Learn what rocks you might find in your own back yard.
Williams Ray - Re/max Realty Group
Lots of questionable actions and manipulations on the part of the realtor, trying to negotiate and sell our home. I think she was getting desperate since we were about to find another realtor. Surprises from our realtor were not happily accepted at closing. It should have made us walk out. We got the sale, but they don't get the reference.

Western Sizzlin Wood Grill
I decided to take my son to this restaurant and to say that we were disappointed was an understatement. The food was less than impressive, with my steak being overcooked and cold. The salad bar was messy and even after the employee came and refilled, she never returned to clean it up. There was food all over the floor. Waitstaff seemingly ignored the customers (it was more fun to chat). Needless to say, we have not returned. There are other places much better in town.

Panera Bread
From the day it opened this bakery ad restaurant was packed with people at lunch and they even added tables outside to handle the overflow. The bread is fresh and tasty, we often get bread bowls to take home. The restaurant is good, if a little high priced for your typical sandwiches, salads and soups. Despite that, the facilities are clean and neat, which is surprising with the high volume of traffic.
