Boardwalk Bowl
This is a huge 80 lane bowling alley located in east Orlando. There is a large food bar, a arcade, a bar, and an indoor glow-in the dark putt-putt course as well. The music inside is always fun, and bowling at night with the lights off and the night party lights on is a special treat. They offer a great group rate for kids, as well as cheap kids meals. This is definetly a good place to bring your playgroup.
Green Meadows Farm
This is a great place to take your children so they can learn about life on a farm and the animals on it. They get to experience first hand how to milk a cow, and ride a pony. There are areas where they can pet and feed sheep, goats and different poultry. They also feature a hay drawn tractor ride and a train ride. If you go in October you get to pick a pumpkin when leaving. There are coupons in the entertainment book or online at their website that make this truelly affordable. The ground throughout is dirt, so it is better to rent one of their wagons or bring your own to transport the kids around. a fun place to spend a day in the country.
Pump it up
Located between Longwood and Lakemary, this is a great place for a rainy day activity or a childs birthday party. They over "mommy and me" playtime on Monday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 10-11:30am for $6 a kid. They feature 1 large bounce house, a gladiator arena, a giant blow up slide, and an inflated obsticle course. Make sure you bring socks for your little ones and yourself as well. I recommend socks with treading so the kids don't slip while climbing.
Brevard Zoo
This is one of the best zoo's in the central Florida area. They offer numerous hands on activities for the kids. I especially like how many of the animal have food that you can purchase by their exhibit to hand feed them. The giraffe's are awesome. They also offer for a small additional charge, a train ride or a kayak trip. The kids playground area is great also. It is a little bit of a drive from the Orlando area but well worth the trip.
Banfield The Pet Hospital
This is one vet office that I was not impressed with. The staff wasn't very polite and they seemed understaffed and rushed. My dog at the time was having serious health issues and the doctor on staff didn't really know much about the condition and didn't do anything to further his knowledge about it. I was left to find things on the internet to recommend to him. When my dog was put under tranquelizer to stop seizures, they gave him the wrong medication which I believe ultimatley led to his death. To make matters worse, a month after his death, they called me to remind me we had an appointment the next day. I had to remind them that they had euthanized him a month earlier. Not a very caring office.
Del Frisco's Double Eagle
I went to this restaurant for the first time a couple weeks ago and was impressed by the quality of ther steak. be forewarned, they are very expensive. Everything is a-la-cart. When you order the steak, you only get a steak, and sides are additional. I would definetly recommend trying their lobster bisque. If the waitstaff talk you into trying lobster, be warned that it is not a good deal. at $4.50 an ounce, they offer 20-30 ounce lobsters. The lobster our table split was tough and not very flavorful. if you do the math we ended up with a $120 lobster. Not the best deal. The steak was very flavorable though. So if you like steak I would recommend them.
C & S Produce
This is my favorite place to get fresh fruit and vegetables. The produce is always fresh and the prices are unbelievable. i always find better deals here than Publix. The owners are very nice and always give tips on how to use the different produce. They are closed on Sundays and Wednesdays. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays don't open until 12pm. I personally recommend shopping there on Thursday afternoons because this is the day new produce comes in and the selection and freshness is best.
Ace Hardware
This Ace Hardward located in downtown Oviedo is a great place to shop for all your home projects. They offer various items and are very comparible in price to Home depot and Lowes. The location is smaller so you aren't let searching through a mega store trying to find one small item. Parking is usually easy to find as well. The staff at this store is very nice. I would definitly recommend a trip in.
Krantz James M Construction Corporation
I personally know Jim Krantz and have seen several of his completed jobs and have been thouroughly impressed. I believe they are moving away from roofing and going more of the renovation route. I have seen a room add on that they built and it looked like it was part of the original building. One of my friends used him as well, and she found him to be the best deal, after getting several estimates.
Magic Nails & Spa
This nail salon is not your typical walk-in nail salon. The atmosphere inside is very posh, and the prices reflect that a bit. They staff do a good job on their pedicures, but they charge extra for exfoliating treatments and french tips. i was satisfied with my pedicure, but I have definitly had better. The next day I had already had a chip in my poilsh. I would recommend going somewhere cheaper.
