DO NOT GO. I repeat. DO NOT VISIT DR. SALINSKY FOR YOUR DENTAL CARE.
I went to my first appointment at Dr. Gerald Salinsky's office due to a Groupon for a cleaning, exam and xray. Dr. Salinsky looked at my xrays and I was told I had one cavity and I made an appointment to come back and have it filled.
Once I was in the chair for my second appointment, I was told I needed TWO fillings AND that I had an abscess that required a root canal. I opted to have both fillings taken care of at the same time and make a future appointment for a root canal.
The quote I was given for the root canal was quite expensive, and I am self-employed without dental insurance, so I opted to get a screening at Marquette Dental School to see if I was eligible for their services and get a quote for a root canal there. Dr. Salinsky's office refused to give me a diagnostic-quality copy of my xrays, so I had to be xrayed again at Marquette. Surprise! I didn't actually have an abscess, no root canal required.
I wrote this off as a mistake or a difference of opinion, and just counted myself lucky that I had gotten a second opinion, UNTIL: A collegue coincidentally mentioned that she had recently been to the dentist and had been diagnosed with 2 abscesses and that she needed root canals, but that she had gotten a second opinion, and that she did not, in fact, need root canals. "Did it happen to be Dr. Salinsky on Port Washington Rd?" (Mind you, there are hundreds of dentists in the greater Milwaukee area) "Oh my God, yes!!!! How did you know that?"
I later found out that the $900+ dollar quote I was given at Dr. Salinsky's office for the root canal didn't even include a crown.
It is THEFT to trump up diagnoses so you can profit from unnecessary treatments and it completely medically unethical. This guy is a scammer and a quack and should be out of business and lose his license.
This course is much smaller than other "adventure courses" I've seen. As far as minigolf goes though, it could be much cheesier. the decor is fun and theme-appropriate. Cost was $8.45/game per person, which I felt was excessive. We were there in the evening, and a staff person came through the course with a very loud and very disturbing leaf blower in the middle of our game, without even so much as saying "excuse me" or waiting until we were done with the hole. Very rude interruption of our expensive game of miniature golf.
PROS: cute decor, had a fun time
CONS: expensive, questionable service
A very cool little store with LOTS of kites. Everything from child/beginner to pretty high end stunt kites. Prices are reasonable ($12.99 - $25.99 for a regular nylon kite, $39.99 - $159.99 for a stunt kite). Staff seemed underinformed on the topic, could not answer my questions.
PROS: wide selection, reasonable prices
CONS: uninformed staff
This place is about what you would expect from any hippie store... Grateful Dead tshirts, emroidered sundresses, the smell of patchouli. Clothing is nice quality (beautiful cottons and silks) and stylish, prices are average, ambiance is appropriate. A nice departure from the HEAVY touristy feel of the rest of the shopping area. I bought 2 sundresses in a 2 for 1 sale.
PROS: nice clothing, reasonable prices
CONS: in the middle of a tourist trap
I was expecting much more from this much celebrated cafe. Our waitress was slow and absent... even ignored a direct request for something as simple as a pitcher of water (instead, she refilled 1 water glass and brought no extra glasses for those of us who ordered other beverages). The barmaid walked away from me when I took procuring a pitcher upon myself. I had a tuna sandwich, which was comparable to any sandwich in any city, it was nothing like I'd expect from a restaurant 20 yards from the ocean specializing in seafood. The others I dined with enjoyed their food, but also complained about the terrible service.
CONS: bad service, okay food
Located inside Pick N Save. I never had an exam here but I ordered my glasses. They often have good sales, so it's a good place for someone who isn't too picky about designer quality frames, or people on a budget or without insurance. My glasses came in much sooner than expected.
Dance school and performance company. This is the real deal. The performance company puts on consistently high quality performances, and the company members teach the classes. Great instructors, fun classes. Choose this school for your child or yourself. Definitely worth the money.
Well lit, clean, not creepy! Open 24 hours. Has a very good selection of toys, lingerie, videos, and smoking accessories. I recommend this store to everyone who thinks adult shops are sleazy because this one is very nice.
Cute, clean salon. Hip, friendly staff. My mom is the nail tech at this salon and she's fabulous! I have also had my hair done by other staff members and they are great. The decor is inviting, the waiting area is comfortable. Very little available parking.
The only coffee shop in Platteville! This is a cool place, mellow atmosphere, good ice cream and drinks. Prices seem a bit high for the Platteville area. No parking lot, must find street parking
