this is a one person office, and she is on top of it. it highly reccomend her and her services for anyone looking for part-time work. tho i have not had much luck i do see her trying her very best to help me. she is also very friendly. her name is wanda and she does a very good job at her job. the office is very well kept very organized and pleasant.
Giddy Up Delivery
this is a very very small office but it is very sufficient. the staff here is alert to all calls and is there for pick-ups and for deliveries a.s.a.p. they are very friendly and patient with us when we call them late in the afternoon. i do reccomend them because they do go out of their way to accomodate youno matter how early or late you call them. and the pick up person is always in a good mood.
Hamilton Electric
i had the good fortune of meeting the owners of this family owned business. they were just as friendly and nice as you could possibly want to meet. the business is plumbing and i see them doing their very best and then some to do all they can for every indiviual that calls in for help. they have serveral trucks and man power to serve alot of people. they come highly reccomended and with good reason. great work from good people.

recently i was laid off (much to my surprise) and did not know what to do or where to go. the usual the newspaper, word of mouth, and plain old pounding the pave. till someone told me about this place. i went there and i felt i finally go see the light. a day after going here they placed me in a temp job for two days. it was great! i am very grateful and hopeful they will keep finding me work till we hit the jackpot and get a fulltime job. this is the place to go when looking for a job. the ladies are absolutely great!
Jackson Street Antiques
this is like a disneyland for antique collectors! jewlery, dolls, furniture, bedding, toys, plates, records, etc., etc. a room full of beauty! and recently a small cafe in the back is absolutely wonderful. the menu is always ch anging and always just great and delicious. come spend a day here and you wil not leave here empty handed. a great place to shop and eat.
Rio Grand Valley Arts Studio
this is a center for everything. from martial arts for children and adults, to tap dancing, aerobics, and so much more. the most importnat part of this place is the togetherness they have to get an event going. this is truly a family place. you do learn alot about the arts and dancing is so great there. i highly reccomend this place for children or adults to learn and find themselves and the hidden talents we all have.
Best Western-Garden
this is one of only a few hotels/motels in this small town but it is the best one. it is very clean and well kept. the staff is very friendly and it is very conveniently located right off the expressway. it is located in the middle of everyuthing. resturants & shopping are at the tip of your hands. the price is also very decent. this is a fairly new but it is a nice place to stay to at nad even have some guests come on over.
Gladys Porter Zoo
this is an excellent zoo! i like it because it is big but not huge. i also like that they are always bringing in new features. they have a dinosaur exhibit, a snake (reptile) expo and during halloween they have "boo at the zoo" which is a great idea for they kids in the community. that is one of their freatures during the year. it is very well kept, very clean and educating for the children.
De Alba Tortilla Factory
this is the best place for tortillas (corn). this place also has different food that they cook there-all homemade. wonderful and delicious food. tortillas nice and hot and fresh all day long are available for sale. they have convient drive-thru that comes in very handy. i highly reccomend this place because they are fast to serve you, and the variety of foods is just great!
La Especial Bakery
this a family owned bakery. in this small texas town it rules!
they have and do anything you need. they will cook your turkey for the holidays, they do briskets and ofcourse they have "sweet bread"/pan dulce. mexican pasteries is their specialty and always trust a business' special. they do cakes for weddings, sweet 16, birthdays and any occasion you can think of. they sell tamales, tortillas, etc. this is a very friendly place to come and shop and visit with the persons working
there . this is highly reccomend.
